d) Damage cable I. Ensure that cables are in good working condition.


II. Use proper cable connector for extension.
III. If cables are crossing the road then ensure proper
protection. It should be hanged or burred.

I. Cover the manholes or nearby working areas to
prevent accumulation of exhaust gas.
II. Proper supervision in place.
III. Area to be inspect prior to start.
IV. No unauthorised entry allowed while welding is
ongoing.
V. Trained & competent people only allowed to
perform the task.

persons in that area, assign one attendant in that
area for monitoring, no one can allow to enter the
barricaded area.

XI. Supervisor or foreman must be present at site all


the time.

c) . Electrical Hazard shock


and fire i. Use 110 v electric power voltage
ii. Provide proper isolation
iii. Use standard and approved wiring device.
iv. All wire shall be protected with double insulation

vi. Use ground fault circuit interrupter
vii. Check the equipment prior to use and it should
be inspected and colour coded.
viii. If spraying water to drilling area, keep the
electrical leads and equipment out of the water.

xii. In machine working area fire extinguisher must
be available and it must be inspected and
colour coded, prior to place/ use.
d). Machine failure/power i. The task to be performed as per
failure manufacturer’s specifications. only trained
/ competent persons shall perform the task
ii. Magnetic drill need to be secured with
structure to prevent fall.
iii. Inspect & updated check list, colour code
in place.
iv. Proper supervision in place.
v. Barricade the work area to control
unauthorised entry.

e). In correct posture drill i. Operator is to ensure correct posture is maintained


twisting causing hand, wrist for safe manual handling
and finger injuries. ii. Operator is to ensure that a firm grip is maintained
on the drill at all times when operating.
iii. Avoid loose dress and jewellers when operating a
drilling machine.
iv. Keep away all body parts from line of fire.

f). In competent person i. Competent operator to be selected to carry out the


task.
ii. Appropriate PPEs to be worn, that is dust masks, ear
plugs or ear muffs and eye protection face shield
safety goggle safety shoe apron.

g) damaged tools. I. Make sure tools & equipment’s are inspected prior
to use

ii. Personal fall arrest system shall comply with ANSI
Z359.1(or equivalent as specified in writing by

and manholes located near the source of ignition.
v. Shut-off diesel driven welding machines and remove
electrode from the holder when not in use. (Use PPE
- Leather or Rubber Gloves)
vi. Provide fire extinguisher located near diesel driven
welding machine and where hot works are
conducted. (ensure Fire Extinguishers are regularly
