Test of straight travel


If the foot-operated button bearing the
"Straight travel" symbol is pressed, the casters
in pos. 1 and 2 remain freely mobile and the
casters in pos. 3 and 4 need to snap in place (if
they are in "Straight travel").

Test of brake function


1) Press the foot-operated lever, "STOP", to the stop.
• This locks the casters in pos. 2, 3, and 4.
• The caster in pos. 1 is freely mobile.

If the tests of the brakes and the "Straight travel" function are not successful or if the casters
rattle when the device is moved, the settings of the rod system and brakes need to be
configured
(see Adjustment of rod system and brakes).
Adjustment of rod system and brakes

Preparation
1) Place a hydraulic jack between pos. 1 and 4
and lift the device by approx. 20 mm.
2) Place a block under the device at pos. 1
and 4 and lower the device.
3) Place a hydraulic jack between pos. 2 and 3
and lift the device by approx. 20 mm.
4) Place a block under the device at pos. 2
and 3 and lower the device.

5) The device must be supported by the


blocks only, i.e. all casters must move
freely.

Brake adjustment procedure
1) At rod system caster pos. 2, remove and
take out the mounting lock.
2) Unhook the fork.

3) Remove locknut (1) on the push rod pos. 2.

4) Remove locknut (1) on the push rod pos. 3.


5) Rotate the push rod (2) to set the braking
effect of the casters at pos. 3 and 4.
The brakes must be applied to the casters
at pos. 3 and pos. 4, when the foot-
operated lever bearing the "STOP"
symbol is pressed.

The push rod features a left-handed/right-


handed thread.
6) Re-tighten the locknuts at pos. 2 and 3
and secure them with lock fluid.

7) Re-instaló the rod system at pos. 2.


8) Undo the locknuts (1).
9) Readjust rod (2) such that the brake is
applied to the wheel in pos. 2 when the
foot-operated lever bearing the "STOP" is
pressed.

Adjustment of rod system straight travel


1) At rod system pos. 4, undo and take out
the mounting lock.
2) Undo the locknut (3).
3) Rotate the fork (4) to change the length of
the push rod (5) such that the casters in
pos. 3 and 4 are fixed in place in "Straight
travel", when the foot-operated lever for
"Straight travel" is pressed.
4) Re-instaló the mounting lock and tighten
the locknut.
5) Secure the locknut with locking fluid.

Adjustment of foot-operated levers
Re-adjustment of the foot-operated lever
1) After adjustment of the switching points of position

3) Alter undoing the screws (1), the position of


the snap-in lock for the non-active foot-
operated lever can be changed by moving
the plate below it by means of the screws.
4) Re-tighten the screws alter the adjustment
has been completed.

6) Re-attach the casing elements.

Replace the foot-operated lever "STOP"
1) Situate the instrument tray in the
position shown with respect to the base of
the device.
2) Take off the casing cover (1) alter
unscrewing the two fastening screws
(accessible from below).

3) At rod system, caster pos. 2, undo and take


out the mounting lock.
4) Unhook the fork.
5) At rod (2), undo and take out the
mounting lock.
6) Unhook the fork.

7) Take off securing ring (3).


8) Take off washer (4) and sleeve (5).

9) Take off holder (1) alter taking out the
two screws.

10) Mark the two shift levers (2) on the


adjustment axis and remove them from the
hexagon axis alter undoing the clamping
screws (3).

11) Remove the holder (4) near the foot-


operated lever (two screws accessible from
below).

12) At rod system, caster pos. 3, undo and take


out the mounting lock (1).
13) Take out the push rod (2).

14) Take out foot-operated lever with hexagon axis.

15) Prior to inserting the new operating lever,


slide the sleeve (3) and the holder (4) onto
the axis.

16) Insert the operating lever into the base of
the system and install the adjustment
mechanism in reverse order.

17) After the installation is complete, check the adjustment of the brakes and re-adjust
them, if required.

Replace the foot-operated lever "Straight travel"


1) The procedure for replacing the foot-
operated lever for straight travel is the
same as for replacing the foot-operated
lever "STOP".

Check pedal stop
With some bases of the system, there is a possibility that the brake function does not work
accurately. Aside from the brake adjustment (see instructions), this may be due to the position of
the stop.
For this reason, the position of the stop needs to be checked and adjusted, if
needed. The distance must be checked alter adjustment of the brakes is
completed!

1) Press the foot-operated lever "STOP".

2) With the foot-operated lever being pressed and


snapped in place, the distance between
the stop (1) and the foot-operated lever
(2) must not exceed 6 mm.
