I. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

1. 1 Project Overview

This project aims at developing the applicant assessment system solving the different

issues regarding applicant examinations being encountered in the company. The current process

of assessment in the company is through the use of test papers. The test papers are given to the

applicants for them to answer at a certain period of time. After the test, the papers will then be

checked by the test administrator and the result will be encoded in a respective file in the

computer.

Test papers are now being complained as a plain boring and awful thing. Use of test

papers lessens the credibility and relevance of the assessment due to some problems such as

leakage, cheating and errors in checking being experienced. Untimed tests also result in

uniform scores among the applicants that show the loss of integrity which is the primary criteria

for hiring.

The first part of this project focuses on identifying the problems that the client

encounters during the assessment process. This information will then be analyzed to develop a

greater understanding and formulate ideas that can be applied and done in the system that will

achieve the objectives and will resolve the issues stated. The development proper of the system

will then follow along with the features and ideas generated. The last part will be the testing of

the program to see further modifications until perfection is achieved.

1.2 Project Goals

The first goal is to identify and study the issues gathered. For instance, is it possible to

have a system for the applicant assessment, and if yes, how easy and fast will the results be

generated? Is it possible to limit the time that will be allotted to the applicants in answering the

exam? The aim is then to design and develop a system that supports the formulated features and

scope corresponding to the issues and resources gathered. The completion of the system will

somehow help the company in selecting the best among the applicants and also in generating

accurate reports for their record.

II. PROJECT MANAGEMENT

II.1Objective

2.1.1 General Objective

The main objective of the “APPLICANT ASSESSMENT SYSTEM” is to provide a

network-based exam for the Recruiting Department’s application process to test their

knowledge as well as their integrity.

2.1.2 Specific Objectives

 To lessen the chances of cheating and leakage

 To provide an interactive/real-time exam

 To provide fast and accurate results

 To generate report(s) for the department

II.2 Process

Progress in this project will require the completion of several independent steps. These

steps will involve different parties and will necessitate considerable amounts of planning and

coordination. The success of each individual activity will require effective use of scheduling,

personnel and resources. Coordinating all these areas of planning with the different

individuals involved will be a massive undertaking.
