EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Equity Store will be the convenient store of the 21 century. We aim to make a store that will
open 24 hours a day seven days a week. This store will be very different from the rest of the
stores. It will remain open 24 hours a day and it will provide delivery too. Our company expects
to capture the market by providing deliveries facilities to the customers. The area where we are
trying to open our shop has no nearby shop available which delivers goods or open 24/7 .

Our store will sell the same products as other convenient stores. But in addition we also try to
include some plastic items like water bucket, cups, dustbins, viper, and glasses. We will also
include newspaper and magazines in our shop.

We have the variety of products which ranging from baby products to household items and other
daily items of use. We have some competitive advantages through which we can succeed in the
market. Our business is about selling all kind of good the business model for this is wholesalers
to us and then to our customers.

As we know the market for general stores is very huge and there are various types of uncertainty
which will effect our business but we have our proper planning how to operate and how to tackle
all kind of our weaknesses and utilize our strength to mark a footstep in this business

We are targeting every kind of customers but our main focus are those people who don’t want to
go outside, for those who are some kind of introverts and for those who don’t like to go crowded
places. We will provide them best quality products at their door step. As we mentioned that we
will provide online services in that are because no other cash and carry delivering these services.

The overall cost to start the operations will be 2 million rupees which include inventory cost, rent
expenses, CCTV installation and electronic cost.

We want to become the market leader in this business line our mission is to provide all the
available goods with wide range at affordable prices. We want to be most lived general store in
our operating area and as well as if we go abroad then our vision will be the same we have pretty
much clear about our future goals. We are not in the middle of the confusion that if we should do
or not we have all our backup plan as well as exit plans.

2. BUSSINESS OVERWIEW:

2.1: BUSSINESS AND IDEA DESCRIPTION:

Our business idea is to open a shop at Bahria town phase 8 near rainbow cash and carry. The
area around the rainbow cash carry has no general store. They only have big cash and carry(s)
like wazir and green valley .Our idea is to open a general store in this area so we could capture
those people who don’t like to go to these big cash and carries because of the huge crowd over
there. We will also provide delivery service at charge of 30rs which is very cheaper and there is
no shop nearby our area which is providing delivery service

2.3: THE PROBLEMS ADDRESSED BY THE BUSSINESS:


Every like’s convenience .Bahria town phase 8 resident didn’t have it. If they want to buy to
some grocery stores they have to leave their homes and go to these big cash and carry(s), where
they found huge crowd congested streets this is the problem we want to tackle. We will open a
general store that will provide your grocery at your doorstep, so you don’t need to step out of the
house in the cold winter nights or summers days. As I mentioned before, the area where we want
to open our store has no general store, they only have cash and carry(s) and these big cash and
carry(s) do not deliver products to your home.

2.4 : WHY IS THIS A GREAT IDEA :


Every business idea that is successful today whether it’s careem ,food panda or Pak wheels ,it’s
start by addressing the problem first. Food panda owners Ralf Wenzel, Rohit Chadda, Ben Bauer
and Felix Plog know that there is a problem. People want their food deliver to their homes but
they have number for only 2 or 3 restaurants nearby, So these food panda guys make an app that
gives access to thousands of restaurants at your fingertips. They are successful because they
address the problem first .so we also saw a problem and we will be the first one to address it .if
history teaches us anything is that the first guy to come up with solution will always get the best
benefit possible.

2.5: COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES:


Our store (Equity) have two competitive advantages. First we will be providing a delivery
service which will keep us different from our competitor. Second we will cut down the selling
cost of most of the products. How are we going to do that? An average general store keeps 15
percent profit off the grocery items. It means the average profit on grocery item is 15 percent. we
will reduce it to 10 percent .Our goal is to get a large number of sales which will cover the rent ,
salaries , electricity and maintenance and gives us some profit as well.

2.6: STRATEGIC ADVANTAGES:
Most of the business fails due to lack of advertising. Do you know that most general stores do
not fail because of the location or service? Most of them fail because of their poor or no
advertisement. Before opening our shop we will advertise our shop by printing and distribute
pamphlet over the neighborhood. We will play some music and light some fireworks to get
people attentions on the first week of our store. Once we got the customer in our shop we will
quickly try to impress him or her by our customer service and on the way out we will give some
free one or two candies(worth 1rs) to the child(below the age 9) that comes with the customer in
the first two weeks of our opening.

I have to be honest. Our business will not provide any benefit to the

environment nor does it disturb it (environment). But there will be value created for the society
by our business. Our business will give people the comfort to stay at home at winter night and
summer days and get their grocery delivered to their door steps. Second our business will help
create employment opportunity .Our business do need at least three youngster who will deliver
the goods to the customers. I know it’s not much but if we set up more and more small
businesses, this unemployment and crime rate can be reduced.

2.9: VISION:
Our vision is to develop or establish a one stop shop where u can find everything u
need in the city of Rawalpindi

2.10: MISSION:
Our mission is to establish a retail business that will make available a wide range
of goods and products from top manufacturing brands at affordable prices to the residence of
Bahria town

SWOT ANALYSIS
2.11: STRENGTH:
The strength of our retail store will be the location. We know that there are other
cash and carry(s) their .But still we believe that our single grocery store in that whole location
will flourish over the next 10 plus years. On the other hand, we will provide delivery service at a
very reasonable rate, which will be the good factor for our business because there is no nearby
cash carry who is providing the delivery service.

2.12: WEAKNESSES:
The location where we are wanted to open our shop has 3 big cash and
carry(s). One is rainbow, second is wazir and the third is green valley. We all know that these big
stores receive large amount of discount from their supplier because they buy goods in huge
quantity. So they sell goods at a price lower than the market prevailing price. For a small store
like us it is impossible to match this type of selling price because a small store could never get
this huge discount from trader and the reason for it, a small store would always buy a small
quantity of goods due to shortage of capital or storage area etc.

2.13: OPPORTUNITIES:
Bahria phase 8 (extension) is still developing .More people are buying
their homes, more people are renting houses. The more people will come to Bahria the more
profit will be there for us. So it is an opportunity for us to cash in and turn those people into our
valuable customers

2.14: THREAT :
The biggest threat for our store in the future is that , what will happen if one of
those cash and carry(s) will start delivering grocery. That’s the biggest threat for us. The thing
that keeps our business different from other businesses is delivering system. So if rainbow cash
and carry or some other cash and carry start delivering grocery then we are screwed

3.1: TARGET CLIENTS OR CUSTOMERS:


There are three kinds our households which we are targeting.
One is the kind of customers who are introverts and don’t want to go some overly congested cash
and carry to purchase grocery. Second are those households where members do not want to go
outside to buy some grocery again and again .Third are the households where all the men go
outside for work or getting education leaving only a housewife in charge of the whole house.
These types of housewife will always try to avoid visiting cash carry instead she always will
prefer ordering grocery from home.

3.3: INDUSTRY ANALYSIS:


Retailing business has been in existence for as long as humans started trading goods, but one
thing is certain, the retailing industry is still evolving. The introduction of technology and
subsequently online retail store has indeed helped in reshaping the industry.
It is now a common phenomenon for retail outlets to leverage on technology to effectively
predict consumer demand patterns and to strategically position their shop to meet their needs; in
essence, the use of technology help retailers to maximize supply chain efficiencies. No doubt
data collected from customers goes a long way to help retail shops serve them better.
Another common trend in the retailing industry is the pricing system. Aside from having
varieties of products in a store, one of the easiest ways for retail stores to sell the goods on their
racks as fast as they can and keep re – stocking is to ensure that the prices of their goods are a bit
lower than what is obtainable elsewhere.

3.4: MARKETING PLAN:


We have a very special marketing plan for our store. Before opening the store we distribute
flyers in the neighborhood to aware the people. This distribution of flyers will start 3 weeks
before opening the store. After that we do some signboard marketing. We will rent a billboard
around our neighborhood for the marketing of our shop. This will let the people know about the
location of our shop. Once these things are done, at the opening day of the shop we would use
some fireworks to get people attention and to let them know that we open.

3.5: Marketing Strategy:

For the marketing purpose we use the strategy of Digital Marketing and use the following
platforms,

Social media is one of the cost-effective digital marketing methods used to syndicate
content and increase your business’ visibility. Using social media as a complementary
research tool can help gain information that will aid you in understanding your
industry. Once you gain a large following, you can use additional tools to analyze the
demographics of your consumers.
3) Mobile app

If you want to go for digital marketing then the first thing is existence of your business, for that
purpose we will buy domain and create E-commerce website and then create pages on other
social media platforms,

We will also make a mobile app through which our customer can place an order and we will
deliver that order at their door step,

We will create social media pages and starts (target marketing) to target our customer there. We
all know that this is digital era where people like to order online. So as per our strategy it will
help us by creating Facebook pages and time to time checking of how many people has seen our
ad. And there are multiple options of selecting the audience we want to show our ad. We will
create our own website it will be convenient for the people to order their requirements. There
will be different sections for the products so people order then easily and this will save their
time.

WHY DIGITAL MARKETING?


As we know the worlds is moving towards digital, everything is going online. So digital
platforms are the best way to advertise your product.

Another benefit of using digital marketing is that it is cheaper than traditional marketing, in
digital marketing you can trace your add like how much people have seen it and how much
engagement is produced, while in traditional marketing there’s no such benefits.

4: FINANCES:
FINANCIAL OWERVIEW:
First I am going to tell u about the cash we need to open up this
business. This type of business would require an initial investment of 20, 12,298. And we will
keep 200,000Rs for advertisement and marketing other than this. This investment will cover all
the costs that are associated with opening a store. This cost include rent for the first six months,
agreement cost, IPOS software cost, inventory cost, electronic cost (which include barcode
scanners and some computer), buying and installment of CCTV camera(s) cost and
woodworking cost. It should be noted that we expect to be operating at a loss for the first six

months before advertising begins to take effect and draw in customers.

5.1: FUTURE MILESTONE:


Our milestone is to be the king of retail business in Bahria town .we will
become the king of this business by providing quality product at affordable price to our valuable
customers. We would make our company’s name Equity Store a brand that people will trust. .

5.2: LONG TERM GOAL:


Our long term goal is to change this small mart into a big cash and carry
after 8 or 10 years. We will achieve this goal by constantly providing products at a fairly low
price than others and maintain good and close relationship with customers and traders.

5.3: EXIT PLAN

Well if things didn’t go according to plan and we want to sell our business to some other
entrepreneur, We have made an exit plan for that .We know that in Pakistan this retail business is
at peak, more and more people and entering in this business every year., so if we want to leave
the owner ship of this business, we would sell the whole setup of our shop. That means have to
find someone who is looking for a grocery store and sell our store to him. Since our shop is on
