March 2020
Maureen and Ella went to Gaisano Tabunok in Talisay, Cebu since it’s the nearest
commercial area to their homes. As they entered the mall, they saw different stores
and businesses and one of which were:

 Chowking (Food and Beverage)

 Jollibee (Food and Beverage)
 Penshoppe (Clothes and Accessories)
 Book Sales (Books)
 V-Massage (Chair Massage)
 Mang Inasal (Food and Beverage)
 Watsons (Cosmetics, Beauty and Hygienic Products)
 A Little Tea (Milk Tea and other beverages)

Which business/es attract/s more customers?

 The businesses that have attracted a lot of customers are Mang Inasal, Jollibee,
Chowking and A Little Tea.

If you are also a customer, what makes you buy from them?
 I am a customer of these following fast food chains (Mang Inasal, Jollibee,
Chowking), Watson and this milk tea shop (A Little Tea). The reason why I often
bought from these businesses is that when I am hungry I always wanted the food
to be served right away so these fast food chains are at best in serving my food
at time. I also love to eat in Jollibee because of its Filipino-taste chicken joy, in
Chowking for its delicious “Pork Chao Fan with fried siomai toppings” and in
Mang Inasal for its juicy chicken inasal with unlimited rice and affordable menu. I
am also fond of drinking milk tea and so A Little Tea really fits my taste and it has
a lesser price plus its sweetness and taste is perfect which really satisfies my
cravings. I often also bought my skin care products in Watsons because I can
always guarantee the safeness and authenticity of their products.

If you have a family member that is also a customer from these businesses, what also
makes them buy regularly from their products and services?

 My whole family loves to eat in Mang Inasal. In times when they wanted to eat
with unli-rice, Mang Inasal is always their first choice since they offer chicken
inasal which really taste good and appetizing, and big in size making it worth the
price plus the unli-rice and free bowl of soup.
 My cousin stated that she often buys milk tea from A Little Tea because it is
convenience, richness in taste and is near from home.
 As for my sister, she said that she frequently buys her skin care products in
Watsons because they also offer discounts, products are always available, and
guarantees effectiveness and safeness.
Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have a very important role in
developing the Philippine economy. They help reduce poverty by creating jobs for the
country’s growing labor force. They stimulate economic development in rural and far-
flung areas. They serve as valuable partners to large enterprises as suppliers and
providers of support services. They serve as breeding ground for new entrepreneurs
and large corporations. A vibrant MSME sector is thus an indication of a thriving and
growing economy.
Hereunder is the different example for each type of enterprise, according to size:
A. Type 1: MICRO

Name of enterprise: Kuya Dodong’s Fruit Stand in Punta Prinsesa

There are many kinds of microenterprise ranging from stores to stalls in the
Philippines. One example of a microenterprise is a fruit stand. We were able to
observe and asked a fruit stand vendor in Punta Prinsesa. A fruit stand is a type of
microenterprise where it sells various kinds of seasonal fresh fruits, and usually they
get their products directly from local growers, so the price is more affordable than the
fruits that are found in the supermarket. The fruit stand that we observed has various
kinds of fruits like apples, oranges, watermelons, pineapples, and many more.
