Net Impact Club
Inspire and equip emerging leaders to use the power of business to drive social impact.
• What we do:
– Build and strengthen a strong community of socially minded students
– Provide programming and learning opportunities for all of Net Impact’s stakeholders
– Support social impact internship and full-time job searches
– Partner with administration to improve Kellogg’s social impact offerings
• Net Impact Club Highlights:
– 350+ members; 2015-2016 Net Impact Chapter of the Year; 2018 Chapter of the Year Finalist

Education Club
Mission: (1) Raise awareness of education initiatives; (2) Expose students to MBA career paths
in education; and (3) give students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in education

• What we do:
– Provide opportunities to tackle real-world challenges facing education
– Visit and learn from innovative school, education funding, and EdTech models
– Foster a supportive community of education-minded individuals
• 2017-2018 Club Highlights:
– A group of Kellogg students attended Booth’s Education Management Conference
– First-ever adult spelling bee
– Students’ creative marketing plans for Doritos during the High School Case Competition

Public Policy Club

• What we do:
– Help students understand how the public sector in the US and abroad impacts global business
– Provide students with thought-provoking examples of how the public and private sectors can
innovate to positively impact society and the bottom line

– Olympics Host City Perspective: President of the Chicago bid, Olympic Silver Medalist, Chief Bid Officer
– How Regulation and Policy Impacts the Tech Industry: Facebook, Airbnb, CTO of US Govt
– A View from the Obama White House: staffers from the Obama administration
– Adam Smith conference in New York City

Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital
(EVC) Club - Social Entrepreneurship
The EVC club promotes entrepreneurship, venture capital and innovation by inspiring,
connecting and empowering the full-time Kellogg community.
• Core Activities
– Provide programming, resources, and networking opportunities for students interested in
entrepreneurship, startups, and VC
• Startup Week, PE/VC Conference, Pitch Night, skills training (e.g., web development
101), networking w/ alumni entrepreneurs & VCs, and startup & VC recruiting
– Partnership with Northwestern and Chicago entrepreneurship ecosystem
– Social Entrepreneurship team helps students learn about and gain skills related to social
entrepreneurship through speakers, skills workshops, and a social venture competition
• First Year Opportunities
− 2 First Year Social Entrepreneurship Directors: Plan and coordinate social entrepreneur
speaker events, social venture competition, and social venture discovery workshop; shape
the Kellogg community’s perception of how powerful social entrepreneurship can be!

Kellogg Board Fellows
Prepare Kellogg students to be socially responsible leaders through academic training in board
governance and experiential learning through service on a local non-profit board.
• What we do:
– Kellogg Board Fellows is an 18-month experiential learning program that connects students to Chicago area
nonprofits for an opportunity in board service
– Academic commitment features two courses taught by Kellogg faculty: Nonprofit Board Governance
(1/2 credit in Winter quarter of Year 1) and Advanced Board Governance (1 credit during Year 2)
– 50 fellows are selected each year through competitive application process
• 2017-2018 Club Highlights:
– Board Fellows night out at Adler After Dark
– Cross-class visit to the Illinois Holocaust Museum, one of our nonprofit partners
• No Leadership Positions available until 2nd Year for accepted Fellows
• Key Dates:

Impact Consulting Club
Provides an experiential learning opportunity for members to positively contribute to society by applying
their professional experience and business training through pro-bono consulting projects to assist local or
internationally-based mission-driven organizations in solving their strategic business needs

• What we do:
– Match teams of 4-6 Kellogg students with non-profits or social enterprises for 9-week project
engagements to help the organizations solving their strategic questions
– Provide training from top consulting firms and mentorship from second years experienced in social
impact consulting and subject-matter faculty advisors
• 2017-2018 Club Highlights:
– ~200 students served 35+ different organizations
• Leadership Opportunities:
– Project Leaders and Consultants for Fall 2018
– 2019-2020 Exec. positions determined during Winter/Spring

Kellogg Cares
Our mission is to provide meaningful service opportunities that integrate Kellogg with the
local community
• What We Do:
– Kellogg Cares is committed to philanthropy. We aim to raise awareness of community issues and
organize service events for the student body and the Kellogg community
• 2017-2018 Club Highlights:
– Holiday Gift Drive: 250+ kids received Christmas gifts from Kellogg community
– Kellogg Cares Day: 600+ Kellogg students and JVs volunteered at non-profits in Evanston,
Chicago, and the surrounding areas
– Blood drive and food and clothing drives
• Leadership Positions:
– 1 Marketing Director, 2 Event Directors

Charity Auction Ball (CAB)
Mission Statement:
CAB strives to further strengthen the Kellogg community and make a positive impact on the
outside world
• What we do:
– Charity Auction Ball is Kellogg’s winter quarter formal and largest annual school-wide charity event
– CAB raises money for three non-profits, which are selected each year by a vote of the entire student body
– CAB is an annual tradition bringing Kellogg students, faculty, and friends together to auction their time, talents,
services, and one-of-a-kind items to benefit the selected charities

• 2017-2018 Club Highlights:

– Raised $117k to benefit our three non-profit beneficiaries: Code Now, Kids Kicking Cancer, and The Night Ministry;
engaged with each non-profit through planning an event attended and supported by Kellogg students

– Hosted an epic gala for 900+ Kellogg students and JVs at Venue Six10 in downtown Chicago

– First year/1Y committee slots on the Auction & Data Analytics, Event Planning & Logistics, Marketing, Faculty Alumni
and Community Donations, Non-Profit Engagement, Student Donations, and Finance teams; ~40-45 positions

Mentoring Kids for Success
MKS is one of the largest and most active community service organizations at Kellogg, offering the
opportunity for sustained, year-long mentoring at Holy Angels School on Chicago’s South Side.
• Core Activities
– Mentors visit their classrooms monthly (~3 hour time total commitment/month) focused
upon teaching basic financial literacy. MKS mentors grades K-8th and strives to pair mentors
with the age group most important to them. In the spring, each class will go on a field trip of
their choosing in the Chicago area.

• First Year Opportunities


− Committed mentors! This is a great opportunity if you are interested in working closely with
a Kellogg team to support the amazing teachers and students at Holy Angels.
− Classroom Leaders! Maintain relationship between mentors and school. Oversee and review
curriculum.

H4H offers the opportunity to learn valuable construction skills while helping to provide
housing to families in need

– Volunteer to help build homes for families in need
