Head of Acquisitions (Paid Part-Time MBA Internship)

About us: Founder Legacy Partners (FLP) is a traditional search fund focused on acquiring a
US technology services provider or a business service that can become upgraded eventually
upgraded to a tech-focused (automated) business. The Principal, Kevin Hong (Booth MBA
Candidate) has been a serial entrepreneur, growing two startups to $31M ARR and $7M ARR
and has raised over $8M in VC fundraising prior to search. SVP/Investor, Hyon Lee is a
Cofounder/CTO of LTSE with Eric Ries (Author of The Lean Startup) and has exited his
company Peer, to Twitter, after cofounding the company with Ex-COO of Salesforce George
Hu. Active Strategic Advisor/Investor Jason Wang was the CEO/Cofounder of Caviar, which
sold to Square in 2014 for $90M.

Other notable investors/advisors include: a minority NBA Team owner, Ex-Senior Partner
from Mckinsey, a former search who IPO’ed a company, various VC investors, professors
from top business schools, and well-regarded search/PE investors from the US, Europe, and
Asia.

About FLP:

Description: FLP which is private equity search fund, is hiring an Intern Head of Acquisitions
to work part-time (minimum of 10 hours/week) to help lead outreach, sourcing diligence,
develop relationships with business brokers, outside investors, industry advisors/specialists,
and manage interns. The ideal candidate will have great personal skills and simply a drive to
get sh*t done at all costs and has demonstrated excellence in his/her field. Strong, finance
skills, such as experience of 3+ years in investment banking and finance is preferred but not
required.

What sets FLP apart?

1. Investment Thesis – While we are looking at tech acquisitions, we are also looking at
business services that can become transformed and upgraded into a tech business.
Opposed to buying a ready-made business, you will be able to work with founders
who have built businesses from scratch apply Silicon Valley principles + PE principles.
2. Experience – Watch an experienced founder in his natural habitat scale operations
from the ground up. Only 4% of ventures reach $1M in revenue. Principal Kevin Hong
has hit that milestone all three times for his tech startups in rapid succession. Most
notably, one of his ventures scaled to ~100 employees in five different countries.
Additionally, SVP Hyon has done 18 startups and has had multiple exits. His most
recent company, LTSE, has raised over $70M from Andreesen Horrowitz, Lowercase
Capital, Founders Fund and boasts a strong 9-figure company valuation.
3. Network – Everyone on the team thus far has known principal Kevin Hong for many
years through various projects and companies. Once you become part of the family,
our network is your network. Between Kevin, Hyon, and Jason there aren’t many
notable VCs we don’t know and FLP is very well-connected in the search fund
community. Whether you want to pursue search, PE, VC, or entrepreneurship, FLP
will be thrilled to share its network to provide the resources to help plan your next

Responsibilities:

1. Market research and analysis


2. Management of a team of interns
3. Operations support and metrics tracking for deal flow
4. Relationship management with brokers, investors, sellers, and industry advisors
5. Managing and maintaining key CRM/sourcing databases
6. Running due diligence and financial modeling as needed
7. Analysis of various business models and building rapport with key industry
professionals
8. Assisting sourcing warm market deals and inbound acquisition opportunities
provided by the management team.

Duration:

Minimum of 6 months and ideally until acquisition of a company (potentially negotiable)

Ideal Candidate:

• Phenomenal track record of getting sh*t done


• Guys/Gals who don’t mind showing up to work and scrubbing the toilet
• Some who subscribes to servant slave leadership
• Track record of outperforming team and exemplifying excellence/greatness in
various roles, responsibilities, and education (references and/or transcript may be
required)
• 3-6 years of experience in banking, PE, VC, Growth Equity, or consulting preferred
but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc)
• Strong knowledge and/or experience in tech preferred
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Team player who is a great culture fit
