The significance of the programs of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) in establishing linkages
with the community is to develop our physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being and to
improve defense preparedness by developing the ethics of service while undergoing training in one of its
three programs. And to improve education, leadership, sustain social interaction for us, community
building, etc. And that three programs is designed to improve our contribution to the community.

Like in the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) where they train youths to contribute to the
community by doing activities that have social impact through activities that could contribute to health,
education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and morals of the citizens and also to
improve our welfare of our citizenship.

Like in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) where it focuses on training youths about leadership,
critical thinking, and the values of the military to become a better citizen and personas, as well as
valuable team building and networking opportunities and also to be prepared on something that may
occur for national defense.

Like in the Literacy Training Service (LTS) where it focuses on training students to become teachers of
reading-writing literacy and numeracy to children, out-of-school youth, and other segments of society to
help improve the knowledge about literature and also to provide wisdom for the people.

I therefore conclude that the significance of the programs of the NSTP in establishing linkages with the
community is to improve our consciousness and advance our involvement in public and civic affairs in
our times of needs. Where in NSTP-CWTS focuses in our involvement in programs or activities that will
benefit the people, in NSTP-LTS where it focuses in the education of the people, strengthening the
education sector to empower the people through education, and in NSTP-ROTC focuses in our
preparedness the in national defense.
