1. In words, explain the process of computing for area of regions bounded by curves.
The proposed design was inspired by what is happening nowadays. We are so
much devastated and worried because of what we are experiencing right now.
However, we should be positive and look out the brighter side of it so the proposed
design was created. Star as a symbol of hope and light for every individual that think
that there what happened this year has no end. Moreover, it is also a sign that we will
soon shine again despite of what happened.
To be able to find the regions bounded by curves, definite integrals can be used.
To apply the fundamental theorem of calculus, the given function must be placed in
graphs. Then, to solve for the integral of the function f(x)dx bounded by the end points
a and b, which are the lower and upper bounds where both a and b has are considered
vertical lines (x=a and x=b) respectively, we can find the area of the regions bounded
or under a curve. The integral of the given function must be solved and substitute the
upper and lower bound to the integral of the function. Then the result will be the area
of the region bounded by curve.
2. Other than using definite integrals, can you think of how else can the cost
of paint be estimated? Illustrate.
A. Riemann Sum
This can be used to estimate the cost of the paint and it can be calculated by
partitioning the regions into shapes and it is formed together to adding similar region to
the region being measured, when calculating the areas of this shape, you just simply
add the small areas altogether.
3. Why is it necessary to estimate first the cost of painting?
It is necessary to estimate the cost of painting mainly because that way, the painters
can create a budget for their paint, they will be able to decide as to quality of paint they
are going to use. Estimating is vital because it will help them figure out how many liters
will they be able to use for a specific area. Moreover, it will help them know how much

they need to prepare to purchase all the needed colors for the painting.
