Health Protocols for DTI Diskwento Caravan

In the light of the ongoing crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Trade
and Industry conducts the Diskwento Caravan (DC) solely or in partnership with the Department of
Agriculture (DA), known as Kadiwa Diskwento Karavan, and Local Government Units (LGUs)
nationwide to serve the consumers in acquiring their needs.

I. Objective
To ensure compliance by participating manufacturers, public, DTI and LGU
representatives and other guests with the health protocols or the minimum health
standards of Department of Health in the conduct of the Diskwento Caravan/Kadiwa
Diskwento Karavan.

II. Coverage
The Health Protocols or the minimum health standards of Department of Health shall be
applied to DTI and partner agencies personnel, local government unit concerned,
participating manufacturers/suppliers/distributors and consumers in the Diskwento
Caravan/Kadiwa Diskwento Karavan.

III. Health and Safety Standards


The following health and safety standards shall be implemented in the conduct of
Diskwento Caravan/Kadiwa Diskwento Karavan:

A. DTI and Partner Agencies


• Observe prescribed physical distancing at all times.
• Ensure the proper use of PPEs such as face mask, face shield and gloves which
must be worn at all times during the event except when eating or drinking.
• Provide alcohols/disinfectants for their personnel and remind the frequent use of the
same.

B. Manufacturers/Suppliers/Distributors
• Provide the appropriate PPEs such as face masks, gloves and face shield for
workers/manpower and require that the same be worn at all times during the event
except when eating or drinking.

• Provide alcohols/disinfectants for workers/manpower and remind the frequent use of
the same.
• Observe prescribed physical distancing at all times.

C. Local Government Units


• Designate roving personnel/officer to strictly monitor foot traffic and enforce physical
distancing.
• Create one-way flow, if possible, to decongest queues and facilitate movement in the
event. • Provide chairs or markers in the area/venue and foot baths at the entrance, if
applicable.
• Provide alcohol/disinfectants on the booth intended for customers and their personnel
and remind the frequent use thereof.
● Ensure the proper use of PPEs such as face mask, face shield and gloves during
the event for both sellers and buyers.
● Provide thermal scanner and require guests to undergo temperature checked upon
entering the venue.
● Provide and accomplish health symptom questionnaire/form of a person found with
temperature > 37.5°C.
● Assign health care personnel/s to assess and respond in the needs for evaluation of
the person found symptomatic and shall be provided the appropriate medical grade
PPEs which shall include but not limited to face masks, goggles/face shields and
gloves.
● Provide isolation area that should be well ventilated and must be disinfected
frequently.
● Disinfect all provided equipment or vehicles entering the premises, including table
and chairs.

D. Consumers
● Wear face masks inside the venue.
● Observe prescribed physical distancing at all times.
● Disinfect hands with alcohol or sanitizer provided in the venue.
