Do you think adoption and implementation of Pro-poor tourism is feasible in your

community/area? If yes/no, why do you think that in the case.

Ans: Yes, adoption and implementation of pro-poor tourism is feasible in my area.

The feasibility of the implementation of pro-poor tourism in my area is made possible by the
following:-

 Presence of a well-connected road networks: Though my area is a rural one, it is well

connected to the nearest town by a National Highway Road. The connection between this
road and my area is one such criteria or principle that can be judged that it is possible to
adopt pro-poor tourism in my area.

 Presence of aesthetic natural forests : It is no surprise that trekkers and adventures love to
witness nature’s phenomenal beauty. They love camping and staying out in nature.
Moreover, these aesthetic jungles can also be made into beautiful parks for children to play.
So, I can literally say that the presence of these natural forests is another thing that can be
taken into consideration for the possibility to implement pro-poor tourism in my area.

 Availability of pure natural water resources : Natural water is excessively available in my

area and thus, the problem of water shortage does not exist. Water can be used to
accommodate facilities, namely, maintenance of the area, irrigation, daily cleaning or for
intensive use of bathroom by guests. Moreover, river streams and lakes in my area can also
be modified and thus, becoming an attraction to tourists.

 Presence of hills: Hills and mountains are unique ecosystems; their ecological and cultural
attributes make them favourite tourist destinations. Since they are higher than everything
around them, hills are good places to get a nice view. Tourists are attracted to hills for many
reasons, including the climate, clean air, unique landscapes and wildlife, scenic beauty, local
culture, history and heritage, and the opportunity to experience the feeling of freedom and
peace of nature. Thus, this point can be considered as one of the standards for the feasibility
of implementation pro-poor tourism in my area.

 My area is basically a rural area quite far from the city. The total number if households is
approximately around 100. Most of the members of such households are unemployed. So,
adoption of pro-poor households is one such way to reduce unemployment and mainly, to
conquer poverty. It can bring wealth and jobs to poor rural people. So, as a conclusion, I can
say that implementation and adoption of pro-poor tourism in my area is feasible.
