LAB NO:4(a)
TASK NO :1 Design series RL circuit by using clock source of 5V p-p and duty cycle.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:

TASK NO :2Calculate RL time constant and Fin for the given circuit.
FORMULA: τ =L/R and Fin=1/10*τ
CALCULATION:
.When R=1k ohms and L=100mH
Ʈ=1k/100m=100*10^-6
Fin=1/10* Ʈ=1000Hz.
.When R=2k ohms and L=150mH
Ʈ=2k/150m=75*10^-6
Fin=1/10* Ʈ=1333.33Hz
.When R=3k ohms and L=200mH
Ʈ=3k/200m=66.67*10^-6
Fin=1/10* Ʈ=1499.9Hz
.When R=4k ohms and L=250mH
Ʈ=4k/250m=62.5*10^-6
Fin=1/10* Ʈ=1600Hz
.When R=5k ohms and L=300mH
Ʈ=5k/300m=60*10^-6
Fin=1/10* Ʈ=1666.66Hz

CONCLUSION:
The object of this lab is to analyze the first order RL circuit and I observed that In an R-L
circuit, voltage across the inductor decreases with time while in the RC circuit the voltage
across the capacitor increased with time. Thus, current in an RL circuit has the same form as
voltage in an RC circuit: they both rise to their final value exponentially according to 1 - e (-
t*R/L)
.
