ABSTRACT

HBA1C VALUE WHICH WAS ASSESSED FROM THE LIVELINESS OF ELDERLY TYPE
2 DIABETICS PARTICIPANTS IN BUNGA MELATI CLINIC OF MALANG.

Background: Lifestyle related Health problems are serious problems in developed and
developing countries due to the increasing number of diabetes mellitus cases. Objective: This
study aimed to determine the relationship between The Liveliness Of Elderly Type 2 Diabetics
Participants with HBA1C value in Bunga Melati Clinic of Malang.

Methods: This research was a retrospective research. The number of samples were 26
participants and taken by using random techniques. Chi-Square Test was done as well as the
analysis test.

Most of the participants had liveliness in active category as many as 21 participants (80.8%).
And most of the participants belonged to normal category of HBA1C levels as many as 19
participants (73.1%).

Results: From the results of the Chi-Square Test, it was found that p value <0.05 was p = 0.000,
means that there was a relationship between The Liveliness Of Elderly Type 2 Diabetics
Participants with HBA1C value in Bunga Melati Clinic of Malang .

Conclusion: The Liveliness Of Elderly Type 2 Diabetics Participants in doing visit to the doctor,
taking chronic drugs, conducting HbA1C screening, gymnastics, and education could affect
whether normal or not HbA1C value in type 2 DM patients.
