Quantitative Analysis

The Average Gravitational Constant is made of a sum of Gravitational Constant

Measurement divided by the amount of data.

→Average Gravitational Constant =

(g1+g2+g3)/3 = (9.566+9.603+9.540)/3 = 9.570 m/s²

The Kinetic Energy is made of multiplication between mass and velocity square, multiplied
by half

→Kinetic Energy (KE) = ½*m*v²

1. KE₁ = ½*m*v₁ = ½*0.02455*0.869 = 0.00927 J

2. KE₂ = ½*m*v₂ = ½*0.02455*1.356 = 0.02257 J
3. KE₃ = ½*m*v₃ = ½*0.02455*1.824 = 0.04084 J
4. KE₄ = ½*m*v₄ = ½*0.02455*2.293 = 0.06454 J

The Potential Energy is made of multiplication between mass, gravity, and height.

→Potential Energy (PE) = m*g*h

1. PE₁ = m*g*h₁ = 0.02455*9.57*1.261 = 0.2962 J

2. PE₂ = m*g*h₂ = 0.02455*9.57*1.2052 = 0.2831 J
3. PE₃ = m*g*h₃ = 0.02455*9.57*1.1257 = 0.2644 J
4. PE₄ = m*g*h₄ = 0.02455*9.57*1.0225 = 0.2402 J

The Mechanical Energy is made of a sum of Kinetic Energy plus Potential Energy.

→Mechanical Energy (ME) = KE + PE

1. KE₁ + PE₁ = 0.30547 J

2. KE₂ + PE₂ = 0.30567 J
3. KE₃ + PE₃ = 0.30524 J
4. KE₄ + PE₄ = 0.30474 J
Qualitative Analysis

There are some assumptions that are taken for this experiment :

 The Average Gravitational Constant is different from the Gravitational of earth, the
sum of the Average Gravitational Constant is 9.57 m/s² whereas the Gravitational of
earth is 9.8 m/s².

 The sum of the Potential Energy and the Mechanical Energy will be different if we
use the gravitational of earth, here’s the result:

→Potential Energy :

1. PE₁ = m*g*h₁ = 0.02455*9.8*1.261 = 0.3033 J

2. PE₂ = m*g*h₂ = 0.02455*9.8*1.2052 = 0.2899 J
3. PE₃ = m*g*h₃ = 0.02455*9.8*1.1257 = 0.2708 J
4. PE₄ = m*g*h₄ = 0.02455*9.8*1.0225 = 0.2460 J

→Mechanical Energy :

1. KE₁ + PE₁ = 0.31257 J

2. KE₂ + PE₂ = 0.31247 J
3. KE₃ + PE₃ = 0.31164 J
4. KE₄ + PE₄ = 0.31054 J

 Factors that causing the differences between the Average Gravitational Constant and
the Gravitational of earth are:
1. Errors in data retrieval (Human Error).
2. Errors in measurement.
3. Natural factors (there’s an external forces that influence the
measurement results)
Conclusion

 Kinetic Energy is proportional to time, and Potential Energy is inversely proportional

to time. As the Kinetic Energy increase the Potential Energy decrease.
 The Mechanical Energy doesn’t conserve for this experiment, because Mechanical
Energy is made of Kinetic Energy plus Potential Energy ( ME = KE + PE), and each data
has different KE and PE.
 The Initial Height influence the Gravitational Constant, because the Gravitational
Constant is made of Initial Height divided by time square ( g = h/t² )
