Machining process

Diameter : 1 inch (25.4 mm) ,

Tolerance : 30mm
The purpose of the tolerance is to hold the material (Clamp)
Width : 4.25 inch (107.95)
Tolerance : 120mm

1. Drilling on both ends

To make holes on both ends, the purpose of center drilling is to
hold the material, so when it is given force when turning, the
material will not move from tool path.

2. Facing
All surfaces go through facing process to smoothen the
side/surface.
3. Flat turning = 1mm
The cylindrical material goes through flat turning to change the
dimension of the diameter.

4. Grooving
To cut the cylindrical material with certain depth

5. Chamfering
To change the sharp material into dull material before it goes to
threading. Chamfering happens on both ends after drilling, to
smoothen out the rough surface, and happen after grooving with a
certain angle according to the shape of the wanted piece.

6. Threading
To create screw thread through 2.54mm of material

7. Knurling
To make certain pattern on the cylindrical work piece

8. Cut off
