RELATIVE CLAUSES EXERCISES

At the end of this worksheet, students will be able to:


 identify the relative pronouns involved in the questions given.
 demonstrate an understanding adjective clauses by determining the incorrect answer.
 differentiate between the subject pronoun and object pronoun in adjective clauses.
 form sentences by using adjective clauses.

EXERCISE 1: Choose the correct answer.

EXERCISE 3: Find the mistakes in the sentences and correct them. Some of the sentences are correct.

EXERCISE 4: Make sentences using the cues.

EXERCISE 5: Combine the two sentences using the second sentence as a relative clause.

1- Because I am worried about the consequences, I don't give my daughter food. It contains artificial sweeteners.

2- The army fired water cannon at the boys. They were throwing fireworks and acid at the soldiers.

3- I'm sure the man is the new financial director. He's shaking hands with the chairman.

4- The cafe is more prestigious than the others in West Bromwich. It has just opened.

5- As they are so closely matched, the player will win. He has the most stamina.

6- I believe the man had mental problems. He planted the nail bomb in the bar.

7- Why did you buy a house? It is so far away from the center.

8- The woman plays rugby. She does our accounts.

9- I don't know the cinema. It has ten different screens.

10- The gym is only ten minutes' walk from your house. It is offering a free month's membership.

EXERCISE 6: Add who, which or X to complete the sentences. More than one option is possible.

EXERCISE 7: Find the mistakes in the sentences and correct them. Not every sentence has a
mistake. If the sentence is correct, write C.
