When I was in grade 9, I was really down because between me and my friends from grade 8, I was the only

one who move down in lower section. So, from section 2 I was demoted to section 3. I was scared and
nervous because someone told me that lower sections are bad influence and “dungol”. So never tried to
engage with them. I was always in the other classroom where my grade 8 friends are. However, our adviser sir
Akol wanted us to be close to each other that's why he always come up with something where everyone could
bond together. While having our activity, I saw my classmate come towards me and she said, "hi miga ako gle
si Claudine, ano ngalan mo"? Then I answered, "hi man ako gali si Ady hehe”. Since Claudine has a lot of
friends in our classroom, she introduced me to them. And that's where I started opening up to new people and
started to get to know my classmates better. As time goes by, her friends became my friends. I realized that
my former classmates are no different to my new classmates. Actually, they were much better because they
are so fun and outgoing person like me so we really had a strong connection together. While having lunch in
the cafeteria, I heard one of my friends opened up. She said, “wala gd ko ya bala aga expect na ma barkada ta
si Ady kay ka sulpada gd kag ka intimidating sa iya pro buot man sa gle kag sadya updon” and I just laughed.
That’s where I realized and told myself, “I shouldn’t judge other people based on their sections because
sections doesn’t define anyone”. Also, I learned in this situation that everything happens for a reason. If I
wasn't demoted to section 3, I wouldn't meet these beautiful people.

The scene in my personal narrative is about my realizations in meeting new people when I was in
grade 9.

I saw my classmate come towards me.

While having lunch in the cafeteria, I heard one of my friends opened up.

I want my readers to realize that we shouldn’t judge other people based on their sections because
sections doesn’t define anyone and learn that everything happens for a reason.
