Notes
Magic ring: Also known as a Drawstring Ring or Magic Loop,
it is often used as a start for working amigurumi. If you are not
familiar with this technique you could substitute with a ch2 and
then work in the second ch from the hook.
Working in the round: Most of the sections of this pattern are
worked in the amigurumi style without joining in continuous
rounds. Place the stitch marker in the top of the first st to mark
the start of each round.
Invisible double crochet decrease: Invisible decreasing is
a method of removing stitches to shape your fabric without
gaps. Insert hook in the FRONT LOOP ONLY of the first stitch
indicated and pull up a loop (two loops on hook), insert hook
in the FRONT LOOP ONLY of the next st, yarn over, pull
through three loops on hook; decrease made.
Sewing seams: Use mattress stitch to sew the seams.

Loop stitch in the round: To do the loop stitch, insert
your hook into the next stitch, just as you would for a single
crochet. Wrap the yarn around the index finger of your
non-hook-holding-hand. With the yarn in front of your hook,
catch the yarn furthest away from you with your hook to create
a loop around your index finger, pull both of these strands
through to until you have three loops on your hook. Yarn over
and pull the yarn through all of the loops on the hook.
When working in the round your loops will appear on the
wrong side of your work, where indicated sl st in the next st
and turn your work to ensure that your loops appear on the
right side of your finished amigurumi.
To work an increase in a loop stitch just work two loop stitches
in the same stitch.

Making Up
Head: Attach nose over rnds 6-8 so that centred between the
safety eyes. Using Yarn C, embroider a vertical line down the
front of the snout below the nose.

Ears: Attach ears over rnds 20-21.

Hair: Attach hair to the top centre of the head.

Join the head to the body: Attach head on the open top of the
body; over rnds 11-20 of the head.

Front Legs: Sew the side edges together then attach to rnd 24,
approximately 1 st apart. Using Yarn C, embroider 3 claws on
the front of the foot. Note that the body leans forward slightly to
rest on the front paws.

Hind Legs: Sew the side edges together, then attach over rnds
9-15 approximately 20 st apart. Using Yarn C, embroider 3
claws on the front of the foot.

Tail: Attach tail onto the back of the body.

Collar: Sew button on the collar (on the opposite end to the
buttonhole). Fasten around the dog’s neck.

Rnd 17: Attach Yarn C to the top of any st; 1dc in each st
around.
Rnds 18-23: 1dc in each st around.

Making Up
Head: Attach nose over rnds 7-9 so that it’s centred between
the safety eyes. Using Yarn C, embroider a vertical line down
the front of the snout below the nose.
Eyebrows: Attach eyebrows over rnds 16-17 above each
safety eye.
Ears: Attach ears either side of the eyebrows over rnds 17-20.
Join the head to the body: Attach head on the open top of the
body; over rnds 12-19 of the head.

Fasten off with a sl st to the next st, leave a long yarn tail for
sewing legs to the body.
Stuff the leg up to the top of the Yarn E part of the leg (rnd
16).
Hind Legs
Make 2. Working from the paws upwards.
Rnds 1-16: With Yarn E work as front legs. (18 sts).
Fasten off with a sl st to the next st and weave in ends.
Rnd 17: Attach Yarn C to the top of any st; 1dc in each st
around.
Rnds 18-20: 1dc in each st around.
Rnd 21: [1dc the next four sts, dc2tog] to end. (15 sts).
Front Legs: Sew the side edges together then attach to rnd 24,
approximately 1 st apart. Using Yarn C, embroider 3 claws on
the front of the foot. Note that the body leans forward slightly to
rest on the front paws.
Hind Legs: Sew the side edges together then attach over rnds
9-15, approximately 20 st apart. Using Yarn C, embroider 3
claws on the front of the foot.
Tail: Attach tail onto the back of the body.
Collar: Sew button on the collar (on the opposite end to the
buttonhole). Fasten around the dog’s neck.

Fasten off with a sl st to the next st, leave a long yarn tail for
sewing legs to the body.

Stuff the leg up to the top of the Yarn A part of the leg (rnd
16).

Make 1.

Row 1: With Yarn B ch37; 1dc in the second ch from the

hook, 1dc in each st along until end, turn. (36 sts).
Row 2: Ch1; 1dc in the same st as the beginning ch1, 1dc in
the next st, ch1, miss the next st (this creates the button hole),
1dc in each st along until end, turn.
Row 3: Ch1; 1dc in the same st as the beginning ch1, 1dc in
each st along including in the ch1-sp until end, turn.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
