Response Assignment OUTLINE

Title (optional)
• Introduction:
- Introduce the topic in 2 sentences, the title
of the work, the author, and the publication
(use reporting verbs);
- Introduce CLAIM (it usually agrees,
disagrees, states an opinion etc., but for all
response assignments, a claim comes to
evaluate/assess the work): e.g. this report
will assess X work about … , etc.

• Body I: Brief summary of the work

• Body II: Assess the quality of the work (is

the information provided accurate/relevant/
logical/valid/credible/sufficient/technical/am
biguous etc.)

• Body III: Your position with justification:

Agree/Disagree (why/why not)

• Conclusion: Optional (Recommendations if any)
