APPOINTMENT

In line with the provisions of Canons 157, 228§ 1, and 910 § 2 and in virtue of Our authority
as Bishop of Pagadian, I hereby appoint

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER OF THE HOLY COMMUNION

in the Parish of __________________________________________________

Where the needs of the Church require and ordinary ministers are not available he may
perform the following functions:
1. to exercise the Ministry of the Word;
2. to preside over the celebration of Sacramentals (c. 230 §3);
3. to bring the Blessed Sacrament to the sick as Viaticum, in case of necessity or with
the permission, at least presumed, of the Parish Priest, who be subsequently
noticed (c. 911 §2); and
4. in special circumstances, to minister the exposition and the deposition only of the
Blessed Sacrament but without the blessing, in accordance with the regulations of
the Diocese (c. 943).
