A. 5 years to finish the course and half a year to prepare and take the board examination.
B. First, I engaged in the academe profession since at that time my alma mater was lacking of
instructor to teach the course. I stayed for almost 2 years until I shifted to the government up
until now.
C. I chose this career because I believe I need to practice more my profession and not rest merely
on the theoretical side of it. Being in the government as well, offers greater job stability and
secured future and at the same time provides an opportunity to further develop the critical and
analytical skills of an accountant. I first worked in Commission on Audit and at present in Land
transportation office as management audit analyst. My main job is to see to it that the financial
and operational aspects of the agency are in compliance with the rules and regulations of the
government.
D. The accounting profession is very important most especially in the government sector because it
serves as security that the resources of an agency or department are properly disbursed and put
into public purpose. The information generated from the systematic recording of transactions
also serve as a measure to determine whether the agency is operating efficiently and effectively.
This information then becomes one of the bases of sound management decisions. Without the
systematic procedure established by the accounting profession, the management will be blind
towards attaining their economic and operational goal.
