Performance Task 1: Illustrate Education of Jose Rizal
Instruction: Draw a thing that illustrates or reflects the Education of Jose Rizal. Give a brief description below the drawing with a maximum of five sentences. The thing that will illustrate the education of Rizal for me is the ever-evident Mockingjay (inspired in The Hunger Games Series), as we can recall, Katniss Everdeen used this symbol for treason against the government. The theme of the drawing is also “The Art of Composition” where it uses straight lines and never curves— for the reason that Jose Rizal is straightforward to his studies (to learn). The Art consists of sharp edges too that for me, it represents the skilled warrior who used pen instead of a sword to bleed his enemies. We can also observe that it is black and white —but it consists of different shades. Some are semi-black, some dirty white—and as an artist, it represents the art of appreciation where we see colors in monochrome themes. Reference (Mockingjay):
