2. Introduction to OilSafe
The OilSafe system is especially designed and manufactured for use in automotive and
mechanical workshops, industrial plants, mines, factories, even in-home garages. Thanks to
the unique design of the OilSafe products, the problems of machine damage or premature
failure caused by accidental or unnoticed contamination of lubricating oils and fluids are
virtually eliminated. What’s more the drums and lids (part of the Oil Transfer Equipment line)
are completely interchangeable. It’s a way to ensure that the system is more versatile and
more useful in more applications.

The full OilSafe product line consists of:

• Oil Transfer Equipment

• Grease Equipment
• Identification
• Bulk storage & Desiccant Breathers
• Storage & Handling
• Spill Control

Oil Transfer Equipment

For more than a decade OilSafe has been the oil transfer management system preferred by
leading companies around the world.

The colour-coded range of OilSafe containers provide:

• A fully sealing unit that prevents contaminants from getting into the oil
• Easier dispensing for lubricants without the need for tools such as funnels.
• Colour-coding and integration with OilSafe labels to prevent cross contamination and
misapplication of oils.

With 5 different lid types designed to fit each of the 5 different drum sizes, customers can mix
and match the components to build heavy duty durable containers that will meet your oil
transfer requirements.

3. Why OilSafe?
Lubrication handling – What is it all about?
Organisations using oil-lubricated equipment can significantly improve their lubricant
handling practices and make strong cost savings by introducing OilSafe products.

How is this possible?

Companies spend large amounts of money each month on high quality lubricants in
an effort to reduce machinery damage and subsequent downtime. Lubricant
specialists are now suggesting companies should look more closely at lubricant
handling practices in order to reduce the risk of contamination.

It is widely accepted in industry that oil being transported from bulk storage to the
machine where it will be used, represents the greatest risk for contamination. A
reduction in contamination results in a significant reduction in maintenance costs,
more productive machinery use and therefore less downtime.

Bearing Life – The effect of lubrication

SKF, the global bearing industry leader, has pioneered research into the technical
effects of lubrication conditions and contamination in rolling element bearings. This
has resulted in the development of the SKF New Life Theory, where bearing service
life can be more accurately predicted by knowing the level of contamination in the
lubrication system.
From years of research into why bearings fail, SKF has concluded that approximately
50% of all bearing failures are a result of inadequate lubrication conditions. Of this
number, approximately
➔ 36% are a result of inadequate lubrication and
➔ 14% because of contamination.

36% Inadequate Lubrication

How does the OilSafe system Help?

Companies using the OilSafe lubrication system benefit in many ways:

• Makes lubrication easier, faster, safer and cleaner

• Protects expensive lubricants from contamination
• Reduces machinery downtime
• Improves productivity
• Increases bottom line savings
• Improves OSHA compliance
• Is proven, simple and reliable
• Has withstood the rigors of the most demanding work environments
OilSafe products make the job faster by providing the tools specifically designed for the
job. Wherever there is a machine with moving parts - from the humble lawn mower
through to heavy industrial plants, from commercial sewing machines to international
airports, from pleasure craft to oil tankers – the OilSafe system has a place.

Competitors?
OilSafe is the industry leader. There are no other lubrication dispensing products in
the market that can match the quality, features and benefits of the OilSafe lubrication
system.

4. Selling the OilSafe
system

Who should be contacted?

When you are selling the OilSafe System it is important to get the OilSafe message
across to the most relevant person in the organisation. Experience has shown that in
each company being targeted there are generally two key decision makers for lubrication
system purchases. These two groups have different perspectives in the company and
each group is motivated to purchase OilSafe products for different reasons. The
suggested priority of contacts for promoting the OilSafe System would be:

1. Reliability Managers
2. Plant Managers
3. Production Managers
4. Finance Managers
5. Maintenance Managers
6. Environmental officers and managers
7. Safety officers
8. Lubrication staff

Promote the cost savings OilSafe can achieve

As already outlined, using the OilSafe system gives companies a wide range of benefits.
One of the key benefits is more efficient lubrication practice and reduced machinery down
time, which means companies, can achieve significant cost savings.
In industries where machine reliability directly effects company profitability, any
expenditure to improve the reliability of the machine is deemed an investment in making
money or improving profitability.
It is also important to be aware that many companies would treat the purchase of
products such as lubricant dispensers as part of a standard annual maintenance budget.
This is instead of considering it as a special budget item that is a major contributor to cost
savings and improved profitability.

6. Other OilSafe products

OilSafe labelling
This is the only industrial grade labelling system that enables accurate lubricant identification
from bulk storage to the fill point. Innovative, practical and durable, this fully integrated and
colour coded system also:

• Ensures the right lubricant or grease goes into the right machine every time
• Improves health and safety compliance
• Accommodates inclusion of MSDS information at all steps of the lubrication process.
• Enables consistent identification of bulk storage, intermediate containers and point of
use.
• Is flexible and suitable for multiple workplace applications.
• Is industrial grade, high quality and suitable for outdoor use
• Improves productivity and efficiency
• Increases bottom line savings.
Where to use the OilSafe labelling system?

• Bulk Storage: The first step in the chain of custody. Ensuring that
Lubrication Technicians can clearly identify the lubricant they need.
Solutions range from simple adhesive labels through to solutions that include
complete MSDS information.
• Transfer: Cross contamination of lubricants can be just as damaging as dirt or water.
Match the transfer container label to the bulk label to eliminate the potential for cross
contamination.
• Fill Point: Getting the right lubricant into the right fill point (contaminant free) is one of
the simplest ways to reduce maintenance and operating costs. Matching the
container label to the correct fill point label is the final step.

Bulk storage & Dispensing systems

Companies focus their fluid storage and handling practices around traditional containers that
the fluids are typically delivered in 209 litre barrels. The placement of the barrels or drums is
usually ad hoc and disorganised they consume valuable floor space, the handling requires
specialised and expensive equipment and the delivered lubricant is rarely questioned or
considered.
Lustor:
Designing a lube room is one of the first steps in achieving lubrication best practices.
A lube room will reduce contamination, created by improper storage practices, and
will extend life of your equipment.

9
Advantages of the Lustor System:

• Super compact - INTEGRATED

• 4 lubes/1,2 m² surface
• Optimal oil protection and upgrade
• Identification OilSafe colours
• Options: hose-reel, anti-static filters...
• 1 Lustor System per lubricant
• Connect and operate

Achieving your best practise Lube Room

A well designed lube room is the corner stone of an effective program targeted towards your
reliability goals. Disorganised and messy lube rooms significantly increase the likelihood of
lubricant contamination, misapplication and waste. Furthermore they destroy worker
productivity and pride in their craft. All of this results in increased operating costs and
reduced operational effectiveness.
Best Practise Lube Rooms include:

• Bulk Storage and Dispensing System that meets industry and environmental
• guidelines.
• Ergonomic, contamination resistant transfer equipment
• Storage and Safety Cabinets for tools and equipment
• Tools that improve worker productivity and efficiency
• Identification system to link all lubrication components together
• Spill and waste management tools
Enluse can assist in providing a number of solutions to transform traditional lube
rooms into best practise operations, and extend those improvements through to field
storage, lubricant transfer and the point of application.
