Instructions to Students for use of Exam.Net Software

Prerequisite: Students need a laptop/ Desktop and white sheets and pen to write an exam
and a mobile to scan handwritten solutions using QR code. Download the QR code scanner
App.
Instructions: If students leave the exam focus area or browser and try to access any other
resources during the examinations the screen will be locked. You can resume the exam by
specifying the reason for leaving the exam area. Such repeated actions done by the students
are stored in the system log and these are available to the teacher and used for candidate
exam proctoring.
More frequent Screen Locks due to student actions during the exam may lead to the
cancellation of the exam or force submission of students' exam by the teacher.
Students require exam Key to attend the exam. The course teacher will share the Exam key
to the students through Email, WhatsApp before the start of the examination.
Steps to be followed for attending examination on Exam.NET
1. Open the Exam.Net application in the browser using the URL https://exam.net/ The
home screen on the Exam.Net software appears as shown below.

4. The students can read the question from the Question paper area and write solutions in
the writing area. There is a provision to type equations using equation editor. Students
can use different fonts to write answers by using Font tools available in the writing
area. Where required, the students can access the Drawing, Scan Solution, Calculator,
and program tools from the left panel as shown in the screen below.

5. Drawing Tool: Gives the student a tool to draw pictures that may be attached to their
solution. The diagram will be transferred to the writing area once the students press
the save button.

6. Writing Solution in paper: Take only A4 sheets only. On the first page as shown in
the figure below: Enter your name, USN, Class/Section and Paste your photo.
Continue to write your answers taking as many sheets as much as you want.

7. Scan handwritten solutions written by the student on the paper with a mobile
phone: Give the student the ability to scan handwritten solutions. It does not require
any specific app, but the device needs to be able to read QR codes (built into the
camera of most modern phones).
