Site Information
Record the following site information. When installation is complete, scan this document, photos, and the construction
drawings (including the layout and single-line diagram) and email them to PowerpackSupport@tesla.com.

Address:
I certify that all of the below work has been completed to the standards required by Tesla and by local AHJs.
CT Ratio PT Ratio
Meter Type Make and Model Serial Number (ex: 400:5) (if used)
Battery (Powerpack power only)
Civil Work
Meets Spec/Drawing
Inspection Point Yes No N/A
All cabinets are installed and spaced per Tesla’s Powerpack System 2 Installation
C1
Manual.
C2 All anchor bolts are correctly installed and torqued per plans.
C3 Door swing, code clearances, and access are confirmed for all equipment.
C4 Site is graded to drain away from structures.
C5 Concrete pad elevation is between 4” to 6” above adjacent grade.
Equipment and fencing are installed plumb/aligned. Minimum clearances specified for
C6
equipment access are provided.
C7 All enclosures are visually confirmed to be installed flush against the mounting pad.
C8 Fencing/enclosure foundation and system are installed correctly.
C9 Gates swing freely and allow correct access.
C10 All equipment is free of scratches and damage.
C11 Signs are installed per plans and utility requirements.
C12 Site is cleaned up and all debris is removed.
The HV DC harnesses from each Powerpack Unit to the inverter are hand-tested at the
E5
inverter DC bus bar for a completely seated connection.
Using a Fluke 1503 or equivalent insulation tester/megger set to 500V, test the
E6 insulation between the HVDC+ inverter bus bar and the inverter ground/earth bus bar.
Record values in the table at the end of this document.
Using a Fluke 1503 or equivalent insulation tester/megger set to 500V, test the
E7 insulation between the HVDC- inverter bus bar and the inverter ground/earth bus bar.
Record values in the table at the end of this document.
Inverter phase checking with a Greenlee 5702 Phase Sequence Indicator or equal is
E8
complete per the Powerpack System 2 Installation Manual.
All AC conductors (L1, L2, L3, and N) have passed “megger” testing for insulation
E9 resistance before termination at the inverter bus bars. Record values in the table at the
end of this document.
The AC terminals of the inverter are torqued according to the Powerpack System 2
E10
Installation Manual.
Shielded CAT5e or CAT6 cable is installed from each inverter interface board to the
E11
Ethernet Switch in the Powerpack Controller.
All field crimped HV cables have been correctly crimped and pass a pull test. The
E12
electrician has left a paint pen mark on each cable as it passes.
All field crimped Ethernet cables between the Powerpack Controller and inverters were
tested with a VDV Scout Pro or Pro LT (VDV501-053 or 068) or equal, and displayed
E13
“Pass” (any other message is a failure). The electrician has left a paint pen mark on
each cable as it passes.
Check that the meters are appropriate to the type of CT: Rogowski coil vs. standard.
E14
Usually labeled on the meter as an input of Amps (standard) or RCT (Rogowski).
All CTs are installed per plans. Ratios are labeled at the meters, programmed into the
E15
meters, and recorded on this Construction Checklist.
CT/PT legs are confirmed to match voltage and current phase wiring (1/1, 2/2, 3/3) per
E16
the Powerpack System Installation Manual.
All CT polarities match the metering sign conventions per the Powerpack System
E17
Installation Manual.
E18 The AC conduit window in the base of the inverter is sealed with plumber’s foam.
Appropriate communication cable (shielded RS485 or CAT5e/CAT6) is installed and
E20
tested per construction drawings, from the Powerpack Controller to each meter.
Meters are configured, and RS485/Ethernet parameters set, per the Powerpack
E21
System 2 Installation Manual.
The Powerpack Controller is properly physically installed and wired per the Powerpack
E22
System 2 Installation Manual.
The system grounding and bonding system passes continuity testing. Record values in
E23
the table at the end of this document.
Verified with the site manager/facility contact that the site’s low voltage system has
E24
only one neutral-earth bond. If unsure, contact Tesla project engineer.
E25 All connections have anti-oxide coating if required.
E26 All cover plates (HV shield, wireway covers, etc.) are in place and tightened.
E27 All wireway covers are secured to their cabinets.
E29 All panels and breakers are labeled.
E30 All cabinet doors are closed and locked.
Interconnection is complete and permanent AC power is available to the Powerpack
E31
System.
The DC disconnect on the front of the inverter is open, to prevent Powerpack Units
E32
from moving power before commissioning.
Serial numbers and part numbers for Inverters are on each cabinet’s label. (Example serial number format: T15J0000123.
Example part number format: 1068506-06-C.)
