PRIVACY
☐ Has some type of privacy review (legal or not) been conducted?
☐ What type of data is collected, shared and disclosed?
☐ Are there any mechanisms for measurement in place? E.g. telemetry, or product usage, etc.

SECURITY
☐ Has some type of security review been conducted?
☐ Are there physical, technical and administrative procedures in place?

USER TRUST
☐ Does the product/service/feature reinforce existing biases?
☐ What assets does the product/service/feature does the technology create, collect and / or disseminate?

ALGORITHMIC BIAS
☐ Is the product/service/feature based on biased data sets?
☐ Is there a human in loop for any automated decision making?

SURVEILLANCE
☐ How could this product/service/feature be used to infringe on civil rights?
☐ Does the product/service/feature impact future opportunities?
☐ Who is using the product/service/feature to impact future opportunities of what groups?

DATA CONTROL
☐ Do users have the right and ability to access the data?
☐ Do users share in profit from their data?
☐ What’s the worse-case scenario of in the loss of control of the data?
TRANSPARENCY
☐ Does the product/service/feature do things that users don’t know?
☐ Are opt-out abilities communicated openly and often to the data subject?
☐ Are all data subjects in the system treated equally?

MISUSE
☐ How can the product/service/feature be used to harm, bully, stalk or harass people?
☐ Does the product/service/feature make it easier or harder for people to act ethically?
