Introduction
This standard placard brochure is valid for the AIRBUS A319 / A320 / The customer signs this check list and provides the translation of the

Additional placards requested from customer which are not part of the
current brochure / check list and are not certification related will be
dealt by specific RFC. The translation of the additional placards has to
be included in the customized check list.
Placards for crew operation are in English only.
Within this brochure the following symbols are used:

Formats
The system allows 5 different widths of placards:
37.5 mm for small pictographs
50 mm / 75 mm for short written information and single pictographs 37.5 x 40 mm
110 mm for the regular placard
160 mm for long written information and pictographs with text

A few placards require special sizes due to special geometric

Placard sizes may vary with different text volumes. All placards have a 50 x 50 mm

Colors Standard colors
Placard colors are generally:
text background / pictograph frame: grey cloud
pictograph background: light grey /

Lettering in vital placards according to FAR 25 is fire red. Some light grey 2.1 fire red 28.1 green 28.2
pictographs use red or green to indicate restriction or permission.
Illuminated exit signs have a warm white background and red printing.
The lavatory signs are located in the vertical panel between exit and quartz grey 2.11 signal yellow 28.17 signal green 28.27

Typography, Material, Installation


Typography Material
The standard typeface is defined as "Helvetica bold" applying 4 mm, Placard material is 0.2 mm Makrofoil DE film in compliance with
