SARS-Coronavirus-2 (COVID-19) PCR Screening Assay

DATE: 29/01/2021 LAB NO: 21-CoV10069

REPORT RELEASE TIME: 10:04 PM

Patient Name: Ruslan Bin Hashim Hospital Reference No: -

Age & Gender: 58 Y & Male Type of Specimen: Nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal
swab
IC/Passport No: A54582748 Date Sample Collected: 29/01/2021

Doctor's Name: - Time Received in Lab: 01:21 PM

Method
Multiplex Real-Time Reverse Transcriptase PCR System is used to screen SARS-CoV-2,which targeting several Coronavirus specific
genes such as E, RdRp, N ORF1ab.

The limit of detection is ranging from 100 copies (E, RdRp, N), 0.009 TCID50/mL (ORF1ab) and 0.003 TCID50/mL (pan-Sarbecovirus
E-genes). Thus, a "Not detected" PCR result does not exclude the presence of pathogens which may be in numbers below the detection
limit of the assay.

A "Detected" PCR result indicates probable infection and should be read in conjunction with clinical symptoms, exposure, travel and
epidemiological history. If the individual risk (eg: travel, contact with case etc) is within the incubation period of 14 days, it is advisable
to re-test at the end of the incubation period.

A "Not detected" PCR result indicates that no SARS-CoV-2 genes is present in sample. This may also occur in very early or late
infection stage. It is advisable to re-take sampling for re-testing if there is a strong suspicious of COVID-19 disease.

Result
