Whether Home Based Learning Is More Effective Than School Based

Starting in early, 2020 the world is starting to face a virus named Covid-19. Little did we know
that this virus will evolve to be a global pandemic, forcing the people to stay in their own house and do
their usual day to day activities online. Whether it is people working online from home, or it is student
forced to study without any live physical contact with their teacher and friend. In my school, Insan
Cendekia Madani, the policies that’s been used in the last 4 months is called Home Based Learning, or
HBL. As the name suggests, Home Based Learning is basically learning live but, each of the students is
learning from their own house using their gadget to connect online every day with their teacher and
friends.

After a few months of using this policies, controversy sparked. People all around the country,
even the world debating whether this policy is an effective policy or is their any other policy that can be
used in this situation that is more effective. Some school is starting to use the usual school system for
every student and teacher to go to school every day to study normally as usual. While some schools still
think that it is unsafe for both the teacher and the students to meet every day and that the Home Based
Learning policy is still the best option available. This text will look forward both to the positive side and
the negative side to this policy.

The Internet Does More Harm Than Good

In the last 2 decade, human race have seen a major and rapid changes in technology. We can
see this changes very clearly, for example the physical appearance of technology devices that we used in
last decade and what we used now, such as handphone, and computer. Other clear example is how
different the software it self, such as internet. Nowadays with very easy access of internet worldwide,
we can communicate and hear from people halfway across the world in a real time, something that can’t
be done in the last 2 decade for example. Not only to communicate, we can also read news, or even
watch sports live. Especially in this hard time that we’re currently facing, the role of internet is very
significant.

Regardless of all the benefits we can take from the internet, there’s also a lot of negative impact
of the internet. For example, how easy it is for people to access the internet, it can be seen as a positive
impact, but also as negative impact. The lack of security and privacy in internet make it easier for
children to access website, or other applications that they shouldn’t be accessible for their age. This
proven to be very dangerous to their mental health and the future ahead of them. This text will look
even deeper at every impact the internet produce, both the positive and the negative to answer the
question whether the internet does more harm or good.
