To Whom it May Concern,

Please accept this as a letter of reference for Lucy Lynett. I have previously had the pleasure of
working with Lucy as a valued teammate while providing Speech-Language Pathology services to
students within the Red Deer Public School system. Lucy was my Speech-Language Pathology assistant
(SLPA) during the span of 3 years. She came into the role with a solid foundation in understanding of
early childhood language development, the importance of play skills, and a keen ability to create fun
ways to use play to encourage growth and learning for students of all ages. She was always eager to
learn more, collaborate with families and teachers, and create and refine targeted and universal
treatment programs with me and the other SLPs she worked with.

As an SLPA she was an integral part of providing service to students and families, by meeting
with them on an individual bases or by running or co-facilitating both small and large groups. Lucy never
hesitated to offer suggestions or thoughts on how to make individual or group programs better. I
respected her opinions and insights as we worked together. She also was able to take direction and
feedback with grace and immediately implemented suggestions to strengthen her skills in providing
speech and language-based services. She always established a strong rapport with the parents of the
children she worked individually with and made sure they were part of the intervention process. Lucy
seemed at ease in the classroom setting when providing universal group strategies, and with giving
teachers suggestions on how to incorporate strategies into daily classroom activities.

Lucy is a warm, caring, and fun person who gracefully develops strong working relationships
with everyone she collaborates with. She is a trusted colleague and always had the students’ best
interests and their continued development in heart.

Sincerely,

Melissa Wills-Erickson
