ION
A system for instituting organizational change based on the
principles of focus, leverage, engagement, and
accountability.

DISCIPLINE 1: FOCUS ON THE WILDLY IMPORTANT

Focus on the one or two goals that will make all the difference in your
organization, and execute them with excellence.

Utilize blended learning in 5th grade math

classrooms a minimum of 3 days a week by the
end of the 2021-2022 school year.

DISCIPLINE 2: ACT ON THE LEAD MEASURES

Put your energy into the activities that drive your lead measures. Lead measures
directly affect your WIG and are both predictive and influenceable.

Possible lead measures to start with:

1. Create learning videos and accumulate resources for
each math unit and load into respective module.
2. Train students in blended learning expectations
starting with 1 day each week and adding another day
every 4 weeks.

DISCIPLINE 3: KEEP A COMPELLING SCOREBOARD

Lag and lead measures are translated into a visible, compelling scoreboard,
and kept somewhere visible to the whole team.
Our scoreboard will have to be
created as a team. We will
keep it simple and visible. We
will also make certain it shows
both lead and lag measures, as
well as indicate if we are
winning. Some possible
templates for our scoreboard
are:

DISCIPLINE 4:
CREATE A CADENCE OF ACCOUNTABILITY
WIG sessions will be held weekly and last no longer than 20-30 minutes. The
focus of each session will be the accountability of each team member to the
lead and lag measures.
One PLC meeting each week will be dedicated to a
WIG session. At these sessions we will report on
commitments, review our scoreboard, discuss
successes and failures, and plan and make new
commitments.
