Standardization
Instrumentation and Industrial Proposed revisions to this Standard shall be submitted to the CONTEC -
Automation Authoring Subcommittee, indicating the alphanumeric identification and revision
of the Standard, the section, subsection and enumerate to be revised, the
proposed text, and technical/economic justification for revision. The proposals
are evaluated during the work for alteration of this Standard.
Introduction
PETROBRAS Technical Standards are prepared by Working Groups - WG
(consisting specialized of Technical Collaborators from Company and its Subsidiaries), are
commented by Company Units and its Subsidiaries, are approved by the Authoring Subcommittees -
SCs (consisting of technicians from the same specialty, representing the various Company Units and
its Subsidiaries), and ratified by the Executive Nucleus (consisting of representatives of the Company
Units and its Subsidiaries). A PETROBRAS Technical Standard is subject to revision at any time by its
Authoring Subcommittee and shall be reviewed every 5 years to be revalidated, revised or cancelled.
PETROBRAS Technical Standards are prepared in accordance with PETROBRAS Technical

Foreword
This Standard is the English version (issued in 09/2013) of PETROBRAS N-2802 REV. A 07/2013. In
case of doubt, the Portuguese version, which is the valid document for all intents and purposes, shall
be used. This Standard aims to gather the Instrumentation Data Sheets existing in the Company’s
Standards, and others, arranging them in 2 annexes: Annex A - Process Data and Annex B -
Instrument Data. Both present the standardized forms followed by the respective instructions on how
to fill them out, each pair making up a number of annexes of 2 sheets. Attention to the propositions
placed on Section 4 - General Conditions. Other Data Sheets may be integrated; and those existing
may be suppressed over time. Therefore, when referring to them, it shall be done by the title, not by
the Annex letter.
1 Scope
1.1 This Standard establishes the minimum content of Process and Instrument Data Sheets to be
used, respectively, in basic and detailed designs of Instrumentation at and for PETROBRAS.
2 Normative References
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated
references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document applies.
IEC 60534-4 - Industrial-Process Control Valves - Part 4: Inspection and Routine Testing;
ISA 20:1981 - Specifications Forms for Process Measurement and Control Instruments,
Primary Elements and Control Valves.
NOTE 1 For documents referred in this Standard and for which only the Portuguese version is
available, the PETROBRAS department that uses this Standard should be consulted for any
information required for the specific application.

NOTE 2 Specific references to each Data Sheet are made on the field NOTES of the respective Data
Sheet.
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
4 General Conditions
4.1 Data Sheets, defined in this Standard, shall be replicated for routine use, if they are not in
magnetic data bank format.
4.2 The Data Sheets presented here meet the documents provided by PETROBRAS N-1883.
4.3 The minimum content of Data Sheets issued PETROBRAS’ industrial facilities shall be defined in
the forms of Annexes A and B of this Standard. Data sheets not covered by these Annexes shall be
prepared according to ISA 20:1981.
4.4 Process Data Sheets and the respective filling instructions are presented in Annex A.
4.5 Instrument Data Sheets and the respective filling instructions are presented in Annex B.
4.6 The format of forms contained in Annexes A and B is the recommended template for presentation.
4.7 For CAE systems, it is recommended that Data Sheets follow the format defined in ISA 20:1981,
minding the minimum content required in 4.3. [Recommended Practice]
4.8 Instrument Data Sheets defined in this Standard, after filled, shall be the documents containing
the technical requirements for acquisition of instruments.
NOTE 1 If the design requires use of a foreign language, the translation of the documents is
responsibility of the user.
NOTE 2 If the Data Sheets are presented in English, or have another origin different from this
Standard, the definition regarding minimum content and other applicable General Conditions
in 4.3 shall be observed.
4.9 After filled, the Data Sheets shall become part of the permanent documents of the design.
4.10 In Instrument Data Sheets, it shall be recorded the certification requirements, whenever
certification is either mandatory or requested.
4.10.1 If there is no specific field in the form, the records shall be made in field NOTES of the
respective form as a supplement to Technical Specifications or provisions of referring standards.

4.10.2 The absence of such records in the form does not invalidates the provisions of relevant
Technical Specifications or referring standards.
4.11 The header and footer shall be filled in accordance with PETROBRAS N-381. If it is required to
use a continued sheet, use the template applicable from Annex A of PETROBRAS N-381.
