On 02-20-2011 while working uniformed patrol for the City of Seattle in a

marked patrol car as 1E21 I was dispatched at 0405 to Harvard AV and E Pike
ST for a robbery at gunpoint. I arrived at 0405 and contacted
Victim/ DOB -1980.

V/ was visibly upset. His face was red and he was breathing heavily.
He had a difficult time communicating details of the incident. V/
told me two unidentified black males had robbed him at gunpoint. He told me
they ran southbound on Harvard AV and then went left. (Eastbound on E Union
ST) V/ described the two as black males about 5'10" and one wearing a
baseball cap and green puffy jacket. V/ could not provide any further
description but told me he could identify them if he saw them again.

I broadcast the description and direction of travel. Officer Burrows

contacted two males, Subject/ DOB -1988 and
Subject/ DOB -1989, at 11 AV and E Union ST. The
two fit the clothing and description. The location was in the area of last
known direction of travel broadcast. I transported V/ to that
location. V/ told me he did not recognize anyone there as the two who
had robbed him. I broadcast the negative results and the two were not
detained further. Sergeant Strozier was at the scene of the show up.
Sergeant Strozier explained to the two subjects why they were stopped and
apologized for the inconvenience.

I returned V/ to the scene. V/ told me he had been sitting in

the front passenger seat of his vehicle, WA # The vehicle was in
the 1500 block of Harvard AV on the east side of the street facing north
about mid block. V/ told me he was sitting with the door open and his
feet on the sidewalk waiting for his wife who was in Neighbors. V/
told me this was the first time in two years they had gone out to a club
together. They club did was not what V/ r had thought it would be so he
had left alone to go to the vehicle. He told me he saw two unidentified
black males walking southbound on the sidewalk along Harvard AV. V/
told me he heard one of the males say, "What's up blood?" V/ thought
the man was talking to him so he answered, "What?" V/ told me the man
seemed to take offense at him speaking and came over to the vehicle asking
him what he was doing. V/ told him he was just getting ready to smoke
a cigarette. The man asked V/ if he had a cigarette for him. V/
told him yes. At one point the man asked V/ if he had a phone.
V/ told the man he didn't have a phone. The man did not believe him
and began patting down V/ 's pockets to find a phone. V/ started

to stand up and the unidentified man put a gun into his stomach pushing him
back into the car. V/ described the gun as short "Brushed silver with
black on top". V/ was in shock and did not fully comprehend what was
happening. He attempted to push the gun out of the way. The unidentified
man put the gun to V/ 's head and told him to empty his pockets.
V/ told me he emptied his pockets and gave the man forty dollars, a
small black LED flashlight and a zip lock bag containing his and his wife's
ID cards and a debit card. V/ told me he asked the man not to take
his ID. V/ reported he heard the second unidentified male say, "Take
the IDs so we can find him if he snitches." A man on a bike rode by on the
sidewalk. V/ told me wanted to alert the man for help so he started
making what came out as involuntary noises from fear. The two unidentified
men took off running southbound on Harvard AV. V/ told me as they
ran he could see the light from his flashlight being shined. When they had
gotten about two car lengths away he yelled after them to please not take
his wife's ID. V/ told me the unidentified man threw the zip lock bag
with the IDs and debit card on the ground. V/ told me he went and
retrieved the bag then flagged down a man coming out of the alley from
Neighbors at the NE corner of Harvard AV and E Pike ST. The man gave him
his cell phone to use so V/ could call 911.

V/ reported forty dollars, a small black LED flashlight and a bottle

of Mike's alcohol energy drink which was on the trunk of his vehicle were
taken.

I asked V/ if he was injured or needed medical assistance. V/

told me he was not injured and did not need assistance but was shaken up.
V/ 's wife was there and told me they would be OK and she wanted to
get her husband home. I gave V/ a business card with the incident
number. They left the scene in their vehicle.
