Thank you chairperson.

A very good afternoon to honourable judges, loyal timekeeper,

teachers and friends. I’m Ainur Khairuniesya binti Ideris from SK Orang Kaya Sergunim.
Today, I would like to share a story with you entitled ‘The Shepherd Boy and the wolf’.
So sit back and enjoy.

Once, there was a shepherd boy who had to look after a flock of sheep every day.
One day, he felt very lonely and boring. He decided to play a trick on the villagers. He ran
into the village shouting very loudly “Help! Help! Wolf! Wolf!”

The villagers heard his cries and came running to chase away the wolf. When they
reach to the meadow, they asked the boy, “Where is the wolf?”

The shepherd boy said, “Oh, it was here. But now it must have run away.” The
villagers talked to him for a while and told him to be careful. Then, they left.

The next day, he played the same trick again. He shouted, “Wolf! Wolf!” The
villagers went to help the boy. But once again, they did not found any sign of a wolf. This
time, they were not sure whether the boy was telling the truth. The boy just laughed at
them, “Hahahhahah… I fooled all of you once again! Ahahahaha..” The villagers were
very angry with him for being so naughty. The villagers then return to their homes.

And suddenly, on one unlucky day, a real wolf came to the meadow. The shepherd
boy was scared. He ran into the village shouting loudly, ‘Help! Help! Wolf! Wolf! Help!
Somebody!

The villagers laughed and said to each other, “Hahaha. He’s trying to trick us
again.” The boy ran to the nearest villager and said, “A wolf is attacking the sheep. I lied
before, but this time it is true!” But still, no one came to help the boy. Later, the villagers
came to the meadow. They saw many died sheep lying on the grass. The boy felt very
sorry for what he did before.

Now, my dear friends. Let us not be like the shepherd boy. People that often tell lies
are not trusted even when they speak the truth. Honesty is the best policy. Keep it in
mind. Thank you.
