Super Therm®

A Specialized Thermal Coating to

Reflect 95% of the Solar Radiation

The Challenge – Urban Heat Gain Through Sun

The meteorological phenomenon of the urban heat has 170 o F
been well known. The materials such as metallic roofs and
concrete buildings all over the industry absorb a huge
amount of heat from the sun and reflect very little, as a
result the industrial tanks, roof sheds, buildings as well as
machinery gain high levels of unwanted heat. This high
heat gain results in use of excessive energy to overcome it 75 o F

The Innovative Solution – Super Therm®

Super Therm® is a waterborne combination of high performance materials, which produces a
tough, yet flexible coating film designed for high performance and durability.
Super Therm® has 4 unique ceramics to block up to 95% of solar heat entering a structure due to
visual light, ultra light (UV), and infrared (IR). While the remaining 5% heat is blocked off by the
coatings thermal resistance.
Super Therm® is a highly flexible membrane with low permeability; reducing the expansion as well
as contraction of roofs i.e. thermal shocks and prevent corrosion.

Super Therm® –
A Global Phenomenon
 Energy savings of 20-50%
depending on use and application.
 The only ceramic coating rated as
an insulator by BOCA (U.S. Building
Code).
 Reflects 68% of sound waves that
contact it.

370,000 square feet, creating a 40% savings in A/C to resist condensation, mold and
mildew
costs.
 Energy Star qualified as a 20 year
cool roof coating.
 Approved Water barrier under
ASTM testing D6904 and D7088.

How Does Super Therm® Work?

Super Therm® SUPERTHERM® Multi-Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating is engineered to reflect 95%
of the thermal heat while being highly durable and weather resistant. The coating has several
ceramic compounds, resigns as other proprietary products.
The first ceramic compound is primarily to deflect and repel Ultra Violet (UV) heat at 99%
however while UV is a significant cause of surface deterioration it only contributes 3% to thermal
absorptance.
The second ceramic compound deflects and repels better than 92% of Visual Light (short wave)
heat which contributes 40% to thermal absorptance.
The third ceramic compound deflects and repels 99.5% of Infrared Radiation ( long wave ) heat to
control the heat gain or loss to the envelope of buildings or equipment which represents 57% of
thermal absorptance. This new compound was introduced in February of 2000 as part of our
continued research in controlling thermal transfer.
The fourth ceramic compound is designed to block
92% of heat conduction proprietary products. 160.9o F 90.2 o F

The combination of acrylics provide elasticity and

adhesion while the urethane adds toughness, binds
the acrylics and compounds and also provides a
moisture barrier. The fourth resin additive is what
makes the complete resin blend to combine into a
single component and extends the life of the
