Thursday Preliminaries
9:30-11:00  Wake up, breakfast and get ready for class day!
 Have a short exercise / bonding with family.
Introduction (What I need to know)
 At the beginning of the lesson, orient the learner that the concept of the topic is to help
him/her learn how to express thoughts and feelings honestly and privately; and write a
simple diary.
 After a short discussion, the parent shall hand-in the module and answer sheet to the
learner.
Pre assessment (What I know)
 Allow the learner to answer the first activity on page 2.
Remember: Read and understand the directions carefully. You may read for your child
if he/she is not yet an independent reader.
 After you have monitored him/her in reading the directions, let your child write his/her
answers on a separate blank sheet of paper.
Remember: You may ask your child to review his/her answers before proceeding to the
lesson proper.
PROCEDURES
1. Review/Motivations (What’s In)
 On this part of module, you may ask your child if he/she writes his/her personal feelings
about a certain person, a place or an experience.
Remember: Your child will learn how to write a diary. Help him/her develop his/her
writing skills.
 Have the learner answer the activity on page 3.
Remember: You may guide your child in answering the activity by letting him/her look
at the provided choices inside the word bank.
2. Initial Activity/Discovery (What’s New)
 Have the learner read and understand the diary of Niña on page 4 and answer the
comprehension questions that follow.
Remember: Allow your child to read the questions and all the choices before giving his/her
final answer. Activity must be written on a separate blank sheet of paper.
3. Discussion of the Topic (What is it)
 On page 6 and 7, enough time must be given on this part of the module to read and
understand the concept of the lesson.
Remember: It is important to know how to write a simple diary to develop skills in
expressing your thoughts and feelings.
4. Enrichment Activities (What’s More)
 This part of the module will measure the learner’s understanding of the lesson. Have
him/her answer Activity A.1 up to A.2 on pages 8 and 9.
Remember: Guide your child in answering the activity. Make sure that the direction is
properly observed.
5. Generalization (What I Have Learned)
 On this part, the learner must be able to generalize the concept of the lesson by
answering the questions on page 10.

6. Application (What I Can Do)


 Read the instruction on page 11. Have the learner identify the pictures on each column to
complete the sentences in items 1-7.
Remember: Have your child copy and answer the activity on a separate blank sheet of
paper.
7. Assessment (Post assessment)
 Have the learner read the direction on page 13 to evaluate his/her learning. Let him/her
construct a simple diary, following the prescribed format.
Remember: Parent/s must guide the child to observe proper capitalization and punctuation
in constructing his/her simple diary.
8. Additional Activity
 On this part, have the learner answer additional activity and write a diary about his/her
most memorable experience while staying at home during quarantine.
Remember: At the end of this lesson, praise your child and give a reward for his/her
accomplishment so he/she will be motivated in taking another task for the next module.
