The article that I have read is entitled "Why Arnis is Filipino" by

Jason Vincent (2018), and I agreed to him that learning Arnis is what
makes you truly a Filipino. Educating and preserving our cultures is
what a Filipino means. Filipino is known for being holistic, learning arnis
is not a mean for any weapon or technique to bully or hurt others but it
simply a holistic system for self defense. Especially for the girls that
needed to protect themselves from danger. A lot of reports in the
Philippines that states that many women are victims of raped, domestic
violence, bullies etc. For us to avoid this circumstances we should learn
how to protect ourselves from these horrible situations, and by learning
the techniques of Arnis we may defend ourselves from others that can
harm us.

"One thing is certain, arnis is more than just a fighting system

of the Filipino Maharlikans. It is part of their distinct traditional culture
in their survival from hunting for food and protecting those dear to
them." This is our nature Filipino, our life. Learning arnis thought us to
protect others and ourselves and also for having decipline, to endure
and perseverance. And according to Vincent (2018) one of the
mandates of the RA 9850 is the inclusion of arnis in the logo of our
Philippine sports which no one seems to give attention to but for
arnisadors, it’s realization will have big impact to the arnis community,
Filipino as a whole and the legacy that is paved by the rich culture and
tradition that arnis has been a part of deserving its recognition as a true
Filipino icon. People may not appreciate but honestly speaking Arnis is
a big mole in our culture and history if we dig up we can truly recognize
and value it.
