Manager, Mechanical Design 2018 – Present
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer 2008 –2018
Mechanical Design Engineer 2004 –2008
o Principal Investigator, project manager and lead design engineer for a portfolio of catalytic
combustion products, including Stirling engine systems, thermoelectric generators, cooking
appliances, air cleaners, ICE engines, steam generators, and others.
o Manager of mechanical design group - manage design resources to meet needs of all
company programs including training, software licensing, hiring staff and contractors.
o Write proposals, manage program budgets (>$1M/yr) and schedules, communicate with
customers (NASA, DOE, DOD, commercial) to ensure that all goals are met or exceeded.
o Developed and implemented company-wide design and document control processes.
o Hands-on design, analysis and testing of new technology for applications, including carbon
capture, air contaminant control, gas turbines, O&G recovery, fuel cells, fuel reforming, soil
remediation, heat recovery, portable power generation, and other applications.
o Perform analysis (FEA, CFD) and validate results with theoretical models and testing.
Develop and execute test plans, prepare test reports, write SOPs. Perform DFMEA.
o Design for manufacturing (DFM) including precision machining, 3D printing (metal and
plastic), EDM, EB Welding, sheet metal, laser and waterjet cutting, stamping, spinning, CNC
mill, lathe, and more.
o Lead mechanical design of PCI’s flagship RCL® combustor technology since 2005, and
develop reactors for down-hole combustion, soil remediation, Stirling engines, adsorption,
air contaminant control, industrial exhaust processing, heat exchangers and more.
UTC Fuel Cells, HydrogenSource (Contract, Rock Engineering), S. Windsor, CT. 2000 to 2004
Project/Design Engineer:
o Provided on-site engineering services, primarily in development of hydrogen generation
and fuel cell power systems using PTC ProEngineer (Creo) and Windchill PLM
o Designed fuel cell sub-systems and components for vehicles, commercial power plants and
the NASA Space Shuttle.
o Developed catalytic reactors, piping systems, filters, electrical harnesses and structural
frames.
o Performed structural and tolerance analyses for molded plastic components.
