Subject: SERVICE RULES OF WAPDA REST HOUSE / HOSTELS STAFF

Para-1 through Para – 6 may kindly be perused.

Authority vide office memorandum dated 28.07.2020 (F/A refers) has
approved Service Rules of Wapda Rest Houses / Hostels Staff 2020. A question was
raised by this office vide letter dated 06.10.2020 (F/B) as to whether the subject cited
Service Rules are applicable in Hydel Formation of Wapda Power Wing or otherwise. In
response, office of General Manager (Hydel) Operation forwarded clarification extended
by Rules Directorate vide letter dated 29.12.2020 (F/C) under the cover of his office
letter dated 22.01.2021 (F/D) which states that “the order issued for Wapda has been
asked to be implemented in Wapda Power Wing is not understood”. However,
some amendments are under process in the subject Service Rules, which will be
communicated as and when approved by the Authority.

Amendment in above cited Service Rules have been approved by the

Authority with immediate effect. i.e. 18.01.2021 communicated vide Director General
(HR & A) Wapda Lahore office memorandum dated 18.01.2021 and received in this
office through G.M (Hydel) Operation office Endst. No. GMH/Admn/A-49/60/1823-34
dated 28.01.2021 (F/E).

Moreover, Sr. Superintendent Tarbela Power Station has also been

consulted whether the above cited Service Rules have been implemented in their
organization or otherwise. He intimated that the said Service Rules in their organization
have been implemented and enhanced the pay scale of Cook from BPS – 04 to 08 &
Bearer from BPS – 02 to 04 w.e.f. 18.01.2021 (with immediate effect) in the light of
office memorandum dated 18.01.2021 (F/E refers).

In order to implement and comply with “Service Rules of WAPDA Rest

Houses / Hostel Staff,2020” Chief Engineer (Hydel) Chashma being appointing /
competent authority is requested to accord approval for enhancement of Basic Pay
Scales of following categories along with incumbents under Resident Engineer Gomal
Zam Hydel Power Station w.e.f 18.01.2021, please.
