DCU 500 & DCU 500H

OVERVIEW

DCU 500 is offered in a 19’’ rack, without mobile parts (disks or ventilation fans), with embedded technology, oriented for mission
critical distributed solutions, as automation substations or automation and control systems of power plants, etc.
This is a flexible and advanced solution, using state-of-art technology, tailored for complex and distributed configurations. DCU 500 is
able to manage, supervise and control up to 256 input/ output points with front panel status indication.
The DCU 500H variant hardware is based on two very powerful identical hot-swappable processing and communication boards. The
CPU boards operate in a live/hot standby configuration, implementing a sophisticated redundancy internal mechanism. Two switching
hot-swappable power supply sources are also offered and they both assure mutual assistance, without interrupting the power supply
in case one of them fails. These features enable high MTBF and low MTTR for critical applications. Processing boards switching is
independent, taking place only under one of the conditions below:
 Failure of the active board, as a result of internal watchdog operation.
 Software, as a result of the intervention of an authorized system user, or an external application as a watchdog.
 After a duly authorized agent.

Besides the processing boards, and power supply sources, the connection to DCU 500 process is performed by modular binary input
and output boards, as well as analogue inputs c.c. for external converters.
Front panel indicates the status of binary data points (inputs and outputs) internally calculated by the equipment.
