PALAWAN

SUBJECT ROLL.OUT TRAINING ON THE USE OF SOCIAL

PROTECTION HANDBOOK

DATE FEBRUARY I,2OI7

Pursuant to DILG-DSWD loint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 1 s. 2015

entitled, "Enjoining all Provinces, Cities and Municipalities to Use the Social
Protection (SP) Handbook for Local Planning, Budgeting, Implementing,
Monitoring and Evaluating Social Protection Programs" there shall be conduct of
trainings on the use of the handbook.
Attached is the schedule for two batches to be conducted from February 20
to 24, 2017 for selected LGUs in Romblon and from April 24 to 28, 20L7 for
selected LGUs in Palawan. The participants are composed of the following:
1. Municipal Local Government Operations Officer
2. Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office
3, Municipal Planning and Development Office
The Provincial Directors of Palawan and Romblon are also invited during the
opening program to deliver a message for the participants. The Department of
Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) shall shoulder the participants' board
and lodging while participants'travelling expenses & per diem will be shouldered
by the sending office. Exact venue to be announced.

In view of the above, the DILG provincial representatives are expected to

help facilitate the training and to provide technical assistance, where appropriate
and necessary,

Greetings from DSWD Regional Office!

As part of the department's continuous efforts in mainstreaming Social Protection to

Local Planning, another round of Roll-Out Training on the Use of Social Protection
Handbook is scheduled this February and April 2017. This training aims to capacitate
implementers on Social Protection concepts and strategies, thereby utilizing the
handbook in planning interventions for Social Protection.

In this regard, we would like to invite your staft Ms. Erika Mae Gumabol to be one of our
Resource Persons and Facilitators in the said training. Also,we would like to request the
attendance of one (1) DILG municipal local operations officer for each target
municipalities to the roll-out training. We would also like to request the presence of the
Provincial Director of Romblon, Mr. fuanito D. 0lave, Jr. to aftend the Roll-out Training on
the use ofSocial Protection Handbook. The training aims to capacitate implementers on
Social Protection concepts and strategies, thereby utilizing the handbook in planning
interventions for Social Protection.

Please note that there will be three (31 participants from each LGU; the training shall also be
participated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers IMSWDOSJ and the
Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCsJ of the target municipalities. Their
letters of invitation were already sent to their respective offices for confirmation.

The meals, lodging and training materials of the participants for the 4-day activity shall be
shouldered by the DSWD Field Office, while the travelling expenses of the LGOOs shall be
counterpart of the DILG Office. We shall provide you with the Program of Activities and the
General Advisory as soon as it is finalized.
