This section transmits Revision 1 to LM2500-IND-0312, dated 9 September 2020.

The purpose of this revision is to revise:

(1) Paragraph I.A. Effectivity

Remove Service Bulletin LM2500-IND-0312, dated 05 June 2020, in its entirety, and replace with
Service Bulletin LM2500-IND-0312, Revision 1, dated 9 September 2020.

LM2500+G4 DLE gas turbines, serial numbers 678052, 678053, 678101

through 678112, and 678114 through 678189, are affected by this Service
Bulletin.

B. Reason
(1) Objective:

The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to introduce Sermetel coating to the

high pressure compressor (HPC) stage 0 blisk.

(2) Condition/Events:

Some LM2500+ and LM2500+G4 engines operating in corrosive environments

have experienced corrosion pitting on the HPC stage 0 blisk, which has
resulted in part fallout at major overhaul due to part distress beyond repairable
limits.

(3) Cause:

The stage 0 blisk is manufactured from A286 material, which is subject

to corrosion related distress when exposed to salts, sulphur, and other
chemicals.
(4) Improvement:

Addition of Sermetel coating to the HPC stage 0 blisk provides improved

corrosion resistance when operated in the corrosive environments.

C. Description

This Service Bulletin provides instructions to coat the HPC stage 0 blisk.
D. Compliance

Category: Campaign (C) Level: Depot (D) Timing Code: 8

GE recommends this Service Bulletin be accomplished at next depot visit.

E. Manpower
No additional man-hours are required to accomplish this Service Bulletin after
exposure of the HPC rotor stage 0 blisk during a scheduled maintenance interval.
