Release Notes – inBLOCK V5.1 September 2008 2

inBLOCK V5.1.3
New Feature: First release of version 5.x
inBLOCK 5.1.3 is the first release of version 5.x and is the successor of the 1.x versions.
This version is fully integrated into ApplicationsMaster 5.

New Feature: Windows XP64 and Windows Vista32/64 versions available

INPHO’s photogrammetric software supports now the following operating systems: Windows 2000,
Windows XP32, Windows XP64, Windows Vista32, Windows Vista64. The 32 bit and 64 bit versions
need different installation setups that can be either downloaded from our home page or are delivered
on different DVDs.
The 64 bit versions do have the advantage that the limit of 2 GB RAM is no more existing and the
processing with certain applications can be faster.
By testing different data sets we found the following speed up factors when using 64 bit operating
systems compared to processing with Windows XP32:

• MATCH-T DTM - XP64/Vista64 are ~ 35% faster

• MATCH-T DSM - XP64/Vista64 are ~ 15% faster
• OrthoVista – Vista64 is ~ 25% faster, XP64 is ~ 6% faster
• MATCH-AT, OrthoMaster – same processing times on all operating systems
• DTMaster – no information, no speed up tests till now
• inBLOCK – no specific tests are made so-far but one can expect that also inBLOCK
runs faster with the 64bit version.

The Windows Vista operating system has the following limitations:

• No support of stereo viewing but anaglyph color stereo viewing (Microsoft Vista
operating system does not support stereo in a window)
• Windows Vista 64bit requires at least 4 GB of RAM
• To take advantage of the 64 bit operating systems we suggest to install anyhow in
minimum 4 GB of RAM
• Windows Vista SP1 must be installed

The Windows 64 bit versions can be only used with the Codemeter dongle from WIBU. The Aladdin
hardlocks do not support 64 bit operating systems.
Please contact sales@inpho.de to get an offer for replacing the Aladdin hardlock with the Codemeter
dongle.

New Feature: Project handling as well as data import and export

As being now integrated in ApplicationsMaster, all import and export functions as well as all project
related functions are operated now with the ApplicationsMaster interface. inBLOCK fully supports now
the inpho project file format. Additionally to the inpho project it is still possible to save and open a
binary project file that is compatible with the former inBLOCK project file (Menu - Data – Binary
Project Files – Open or Save As).

Release Notes – inBLOCK V5.1 September 2008 3

New Feature: Hold Refresh

To avoid unnecessary long lasting refreshes of the graphic display a button is integrated that allows to
keep the refresh of the graphics on hold.

New Feature: Tie point display on/off switch

To avoid long lasting graphical refresh functions and to avoid too full graphic display windows it is
possible to deactivate the display of tie points (Menu – Parameters – Display – Map Window, Screen
– Elements – Show Tie points).

Information: Adaptations of version 5.1.3

To support and handle the integration of inBLOCK into the ApplicationsMaster interface, several
changes in the functionality were necessary. Please read the manual to get information on all these
changes.

Restriction: Deactivating observations and restarting inBLOCK

When deactivating observations with inBLOCK the deactivation status can’t be currently saved in the
inpho project file. So after the restart of inBLOCK with the inpho project file the status of a point is
again set to active. But to compensate this lack of functionality, inBLOCK defines for the deactivated
observations standard deviation values that are so small that the observations are no more
influencing the adjustment result. When saving additionally the binary project and reopening the
binary project then the deactivation status remains.

Should you have any questions regarding the technical details of the software, please contact your
Support Team at support@inpho.de.
