WHO VS WHOM
What to Know:
Whom is the objective case of who. It is the form of who in the object position of a sentence,
To determine when to use whom, figure out if the "who" is the noun that receives the action of a verb “object of
the sentence” ("Who gave it to you?" vs "You gave it to whom?").
Rule. Use this he/him method to decide whether who or whom is correct:
he = who
him = whom
Examples:
a) The doctor who you recommended is not available for three months.
b) The doctor whom you recommended is not available for three months.
Who is always the subject. The subject of a sentence is the person, place, thing, or idea that
is doing or being something; the subject performs the action
Whom is always an object. The object of a sentence is the noun or pronoun that the subject
does something to; the object is the receiver of the action.
