SERVICE SCOPE
An experienced Nutanix Architect will work with your IT infrastructure and
Database team to perform the following activities.

Setup up Era for the following scenarios:


• Discuss the design goals and gather requirements, including business
requirements, technical requirements, constraints, risks and assumptions.
• Discovery Sessions with current infrastructure and database experts
• Review and validate requirements against

Nutanix Database Migration Planning Workshop:
• Analyze the pre discovered data by working with your current infrastructure
and database administrators
• Discuss the migration goals such as application availability requirements,
maintenance windows and downtime maintenance windows
• Discuss migration options and constraints for each migration option based on
database versions, OS, and application availability
• Review database sizing and performance requirements
• Provide a database migration plan for each variation.
• Conduct migration of one (1) test database with a maximum size of up to two
hundred (200) GB equivalent to the same database version to Nutanix.

Database and Era Deployment:


• Assign networks from Prism and create Network Profiles used for database
provisioning (one (1) Network Profile).
• Provision new databases from the registered database server (one (1) Time
Machine SLA, Software, Compute, Network and Database parameter profile
across a mix of Oracle databases or Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL, MariaDB,
or PostgreSQL)
• Demonstrate and setup RBAC and Notifications (up to two (2) user accounts).
• If applicable, register existing (brownfield) Oracle databases or Microsoft SQL
Server to Era.
• Clone data from an existing Time Machine into new and existing DB servers
running on Nutanix including scheduled data refresh (validate one (1) DB clone)

Database Backup Architecture and Copy Data Management (CDM) Service

Deliver a service overview session introducing Nutanix Era CDM


• Architectural overview of Era CDM
• Review features and functions of Era CDM including database restore, cloning
with snapshot and Point In Time Recovery (PITR).
• Setup Nutanix Era in the customer’s environment
• Demonstrate in customer’s environment, how existing database server running
on Nutanix can be registered, with Time Machine and apply SLA
• Clone database data from one (1) Time Machine into new and existing DB
servers running on Nutanix including scheduled data refresh (Up to one
database type)
• Discuss and demonstrate CDM Options for creating clones

Deliver a service overview session introducing database backup architecture


• Deep-dive session describing the backup architecture of any databases and
how ERA SLA constructs are based on backup policies
• Explain the significance of time machine in defining backup policies
• Explain how to configure SLAs in terms of backup and retention
• Understand customer’s SLA requirement and demonstrate the creation of
backup policies
• Database Backup Management using SLAs

The knowledge transfer session will accommodate up to 10 participants

Small configuration includes one database type:


• Oracle: Up to five (5) databases, of a single (1) variation and reasonable size
and complexity
• SQL Server: Up to ten (10) database servers, or fifty (50) databases, on a single
(1) variation2 and reasonable size and complexity

Medium configuration includes one database type:


• Oracle: Up to ten (10) databases, up to two (2) variation and reasonable size
and complexity
• SQL Server: Up to twenty (20) database servers, or up to one hundred (100)
databases, up to two (2) variations 2 and reasonable size and complexity

Large configuration includes one database type:


• Oracle: Up to forty (40) databases, up to three (3) variations of reasonable size
and complexity
• SQL Server: Up to fifty (50) database servers, or four hundred (400)
databases, up to three (3) variations 2 and reasonable size and complexity

¹Oracle Database variation: A unique combination of a database version,


database type (RAC or standalone, database storage (ASM or File system),
operating system and node type (Physical or Virtual)

²SQL Server variation: A unique combination of a database version, database


type (AAG, FCI or standalone), operating system and node type (Physical or
Virtual)

PRE-REQUISITES
• Existing and functional system running latest versions of Nutanix software: AOS

• Appropriate OS and DB Software Licenses
• All the pre-requisite requirements for the Design Workshop Service, Migration
Planning Workshop, Database and Era Deployment and Database Backup
Architecture, Deployment, and Copy Data Management Services.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Pre-paid fees for services are non-cancellable and non-refundable except as otherwise expressly stated herein, and
Nutanix’s obligations to perform any services in return for any pre-paid fees shall expire twelve (12) months after
receipt of the applicable purchase order. The Client has five (5) days upon delivery of the Services to notify Nutanix
that the Services do not meet the warranty above or are otherwise not accepted. Absent such notification in the
timeline stated in the preceding sentence, the Services shall be deemed accepted.

WARRANTY AND ACCEPTANCE


(a) The Professional Services shall be provided in a professional manner with reasonable care and skill. Your sole
remedy for breach of this warranty shall be reperformance of the Professional Services at no additional cost,
provided that You notify Us of any non-conformity within thirty (30) days of the provision of the non-conforming
Professional Services. A breach of one SOW or Service shall not amount to a breach under any other SOW or
Service. The services and deliverables above are the entire expected scope of this service. Any items not explicitly
included above are outside the scope of this offering.
(b) Limitations and exclusions. To the extent permitted by applicable laws, the foregoing warranties are your sole
and exclusive warranties and remedies. Except for the warranties specifically described above, all products and
services are provided “as-is” and all other warranties including but not limited to the implied warranties of
merchantability, acceptable quality, title, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement are expressly
disclaimed.
