BUILDING THE ITER will be the world's largest tokamak (from a Russian acronym meaning "toroidal chamber with

magnetic coils"). The 23,000-tonne machine will be housed in the seven-storey Tokamak Complex,
currently under construction at the ITER site in France. All the participants to the project – China, the

ITER FUSION MACHINE European Union, India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United States – are involved in the procurement of
machine components and plant systems.
