Cecilia

Music Starts
Cecilia V.O
I’m Cecilia. A simple woman from a Patrician Family in Rome. A
devoted Christian 200 years after the death of Christ, I had offered
my whole self to Him. The most High.
For He revealed to us the truth of life. The truth of Humanity
and the Truth of Love. It is his teachings that lead us to the truth
which frees our souls from transgressions, pain and suffering.
To praise God’s Holy name, I used my voice. I used my hands to
pluck the strings of the harp and play music of praise to thank the
divine one of the graces he gave to me and to my fellow Christians.
I had offered myself to him. To be his bride. A vow of Chastity.
Free from stain of sin. Yet my parents forced me to marry this Noble
man Valerian
Valerian V.O
Cecilia was a lovely lady. Whose faith can’t be separated from
her. I knew her act of consecration to God, yet that what made her
more delightful. We were married yet our marriage was strange. She sat
apart from me and sang in her heart to her God. When we walked into
our room, I asked her why. Why is her faith so strong? And so she told
me why.
And then I asked her a proof. I was unaware, an angel from the
heavens descended upon her and crowned her with a chaplet of roses and
chaplets. And I was converted to Christianity. Vowed to live in
Continence. She baptized me and my brother, Tiburtius. And she ordered
me to have a holy pilgrimage to the pope, and so I did.
If Cecilia never came to my life, I won’t know God.
Cecilia V.O
Valerian lived a life in perfect humility to the lord. Yet a man
told me of a bad news. Comodus ordered to kill him and Tiburtius. Why?
Because of their faith. Our faith. I was then trembling in fear. And
in sorrow, I was. Yet I still continued to nurture my faith, I
continued to be faithful to Him.
(Arrest Cecilia)
Prefect:
Is it true that thou art a Christian? Why honor Him a God who we
couldn’t see? Would you deny your faith?
Cecilia:
No!

Yet I was then arrested for my faith. I would never deny my

faith. I would stay strong for Christ as Christ strengthen me. After I
affirm my faith in front of the prefect, almachius, I was then brought
to the place of execution.
My Life has been a grace from God. And I would offer it back to
Him. With a mighty strength, the executioner stricken my neck three
times. Yet my head won’t detach from my body. So, they just hoped that
I would die soon. Yet the bleeding in my neck won’t stop me from
adoring the Lord. It wouldn’t stop me from spreading his words to
others. Yet at the end, God told me to rest in his perfect peace. And
so I did.
I was not the only believer who died for Christ. Many were
executed for Him. Even to this day. But it is our faith which made us
strong. It is Him who made us strong. Your problems are just minor
compare to those who suffer injustice and sorrow.
My body is incorrupt as a reward for my faith, and it secreted a
blossom like aroma when opened in the 16th century. I Cecilia,
Patroness of Musicians, am telling you all to nurture thy talent for
your betterment, for others and for God.
