Attraction
Krishnapura Chhatris Tomb

Owing to the Holker kingdom, Krishnapura Chhatris are located on the banks of the River Khan. This
monument reveals the actual Maratha style of architecture with domes and spires that attracts the
tourists to wonder at its grandeur. These beautiful Chhatris are known widely for their architectural
sight. It is stunning sights at night when they are lit up.

Rajwada Palace

Rajwada Palace is a wonderful destination in Indore which is also known as ‘Holkar Palace’.
The historical Palace was founded around two centuries ago by Holkar Dynasty. The grandiose
wooden entrance is the major attraction of the palace and is covered with iron studs. The entrance
courtyard in the palace is bounded by majestic galleried rooms.

Sukh Niwas Palace

Sukh Niwas Palace is believed to be a haunted place in Indore. The Sukh Mahal Lake and the green
surroundings of a beautiful garden impart a majestic and alluring look to this glorious summer palace.
A really fascinating aspect of the Palace is an underground tunnel which connects the old palace with
Sukh Mahal palace.

Omkareshwar Temple

The popular temple is one of the most sacred places and is considered as one of the twelve
Jyotirlinga shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located on Mandhata Island. One of its distinctive
features is the shape of the island which is similar as the symbol of Om.

Bada Ganpati Temple

Bada Ganpati Temple is situated at M G Road in the city and was constructed during the rule of the
Queen Ahilya Bai Holkar during the year 1875. The sculpture of Lord Ganesha is placed in this temple
and it is 25 ft in height and is one of the largest statues of Lord Ganesha in the world.

Annapurna Temple

The Temple is a very famous religious place of interest among the people of Indore and is dedicated
to Goddess Annapurna. Annapurna Devi is the personification of the Goddess Parvati and as per the
Hindu scriptures, Annapurna Devi is considered to be the Goddess of food. Three shrines of
Hanuman, Shiva and Kalabhairava are also placed inside the temple complex.

Indore Museum

Indore Museum is one of the famous attractions of the city and is also known as Central Museum. The
Museum possesses two wonderful galleries. The first gallery is very famous for quartz sickles,
ornaments, stone tools and items of domestic use while the second gallery is popular for Hindu
mythological carvings like coins, armour and arms.

Meghdoot Upvan Garden

Meghdoot Upvan is a very beautiful garden and is one of the largest gardens in Indore. It is located 4
Kms away from Palasia, in the city. The Upvan includes lawns, dancing fountains and landscaped
gardens.

Events in Indore are observed with great fervour and are extremely colourful and promote unity and feeling of brotherhood.
Some of the major festivals include:

Ganesh Chaturthi:This festival is held in the months of August-September and is one of the famous festivals in Indore. It is
celebrated with immense passion.

Holi:The “festival of coloursâ€■ is indeed celebrated in a very colourful manner in Indore and is one of the biggest
festivals for the natives.â€■ The atmosphere is really charged up during the celebrations.

Diwali:One of the most important festivals of Hindus, Diwali, is also well known by the name of “Festival of Lightsâ€■ or
Deepavali. It is celebrated in the month of October or November. Diwali in Indore is celebrated with great pomp and show.
Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on this festival.

Dasserra:It is another festival that is keenly celebrated in Indore. It generally falls in the month of October or November and
marks the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravana. It signifies the victory of good over evil.

Best Season
The best season to visit Indore is the winter season. The temperature remains comfortable and is apt for visiting the places

Summer Season
Summers of Indore are extremely hot and exhausting. The temperature ranges from 21°C to 45°C in the months of March
to June. A visit to Indore is generally avoided during these months.

Monsoon Season
