Join the University of the Year for Teaching Quality

We’re the Times and The Sunday Times University of the Year for Teaching Quality 2020.

The award recognises our consistently high student satisfaction scores, as measured by the
independent National Student Survey (NSS).

In 2019 we achieved an overall score of 86% –

our highest ever. Nearly 50 of our courses
achieved an overall satisfaction score of more
than 90%, and 10 courses scored 100%.

The Marketing Subject Group

We have experienced a sustained increase in the quantity of our work in terms of undergraduate,
postgraduate, corporate and consultancy activities over the last few years. We have also launched a
number of graduate degree apprenticeships.

The group is responsible for the delivery of full-time masters programmes in international marketing
as well as the ongoing development of flexible delivery programmes. The group also contributes to
MBA and other postgraduate programmes within the College. At undergraduate level we are
responsible for delivering a suite of marketing degrees including BA (Hons) Marketing, BA (Hons)
Business and Marketing, BA (Hons) Marketing, Communications and Advertising, BA (Hons) Digital
Marketing, BA (Hons) Marketing with PR, and BA (Hons) Marketing with Psychology. We also provide
a number of core modules on the BA (Hons) Business Studies and other business based degrees as
well as a full range of marketing options.

The Subject Group and its programmes have strong links to the CIM and we were one of the first
groups in the country to establish a CIM Student Chapter. We also make a significant contribution to
undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in other University faculties.

A key focus of our development is our involvement in higher degree apprenticeships, knowledge
transfer and corporate development programmes. We pride ourselves on the strong vocational nature
of our teaching and are particularly interested in recruiting people with a mix of academic skills and
strong practical experience, gained from holding marketing roles in industry, particularly in terms of
business to business and business to consumer settings.
The Marketing Subject Group sits within the Department of Management, which is a part of Sheffield
Business School. You can find out more about the department at https://www.shu.ac.uk/about-
