In what way does art affect the physical, social and spiritual well-being of

Filipinos?
Art allows us to express ourselves holistically improve ourselves as it affects
as in different aspects of our lives.

Physical - Art is not merely a matter of your creativity and basic imagination,
however there is more to art than that. It can contribute to our physical well-
being as well. For instance, jujitsu - is a form of martial arts that is not just
made for self defense but as well as an expressive form of art. It is the
combination of your hand movement and its synchronization with the rest of your
body that makes it a good form of physical activity and art form.

Social - Art is an expression, and a form of communication. Socially, art helps us


to communicate with different kinds of people and help ensure that though we cannot
communicate with them through words - art can be another source for that. Art is a
language as they say.

Spiritual - Most of all, spiritually it helps us devote our beliefs and faith. By
projecting art, we can communicate the views of different spiritually within us.

The field of art therapy has helped treat a wide range of issues, from Post-
Traumatic Stress Disorder to traumatic injury and chemical dependency. But everyone
can benefit from the creativity that only the arts endow, which can help develop
skills for life that contribute to professional and personal success.

3. The arts endow emotional skills.


The arts can help us express thoughts that are beyond words, helping people “reach
into largely unconscious parts of the mind and experience dimensions of self
otherwise buried and voiceless.” The arts are an incredibly useful tool for working
through emotions and communicating them to others, a skill that’s useful in small-
scale interpersonal interactions as well as cross-cultural understanding.

4. The arts create bonds that sustain us.


The arts are an important factor in strong communities, helping build what
researchers call “social capital,” or the collective networks that bond us. The
arts help build societies where people value honestly, openness, cooperation,
tolerance and respect. The arts are also vital to the economic health of cities, a
benefit that cannot be understated in the overall health of communities.
Studies have shown that expressing themselves through art can help people with
depression, anxiety, or cancer, too. And doing so has been linked to improved
memory, reasoning, and resilience in healthy older people. The beneficial effects
of creating aren't dependent on a person's skill or talents.

engaging in arts, social activities and interaction within our communities can help
with major challenges such as ageing and loneliness. It can help to boost
confidence and make us feel more engaged and resilient. Besides these benefits, art
engagement also alleviates anxiety, depression and stress.

The arts in traditional cultures transmit the central beliefs and values of those
cultures, and those beliefs and values have a strong religious or spiritual
dimension
Art can inspire, give a sense of purpose, and uplift the spirit of a person
By expressing the cultural richness of the archipelago in all its diversity,
Filipino artists have helped to shape a sense of national identity. Many Malay
cultural traditions have survived despite centuries of foreign rule. Muslims and
upland tribal groups maintain distinct traditions in music, dance, and sculpture.
